Shannon Sanders

Shannon Sanders stepped into the role of quarterback while still maintaining his positions on the defense and special teams units during the Many Tigers playoff game against the West St. John Eagles. He completed four of eight passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns plus never wavered when delivering the ball to other players on the team.

Tigers trounce Wolfpack, war with Eagles

It has been a big two weeks for the mighty Tigers of Many High School, as they solidly beat the West St. Mary Wolfpack 56-0 and entered into an absolute war with the West St. John Rams, ultimately taking them down 44-30 in the LHSAA football quarterfinals to advance to a December 2 game at home against Sterlington. Shannon Sanders was the tale of the game against the West St. John Rams after an injury to Tabarius Garner left him playing seemingly every down. As quarterback, Sanders completed four of eight passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he had two tackles and several pass defenses. He also served on special teams as punter and kicker. He also saw action on punt and kickoff returns.

Wolfpack defeated 56-0, Tigers look to quarterfinal

After a complete rout of the West St. Mary Wolfpack by a score of 56-0, the Many Tigers are preparing for their quarterfinal matchup against West St. John. The Tigers went ahead early after the defense brought about a turnover on downs during the first series of the game. An interception shortly after brought about the first touchdown.

Toledo Bass Club holds November tournament

Michael Woods did it again with his second win in a row at the November tournament of the Toledo Bass Club. He had a 19.32 pound stringer with two bass over six pounds, one of which earned him Big Bass honors. His total take on the tournament was over $600.

Tigers overwhelm General Trass; advance to playoff ‘s second round

The first round of the LHSAA Class 2A playoffs kicked off on November 11 with the top seeded Many Tigers pummeling the winless General Trass, the lowest seed in the tournament, by a score of 57-6. The high-powered running offense of the Tigers was once again on display, with junior AJ Carter getting 10 carries for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Shacori Collier put up 10 runs for 43 yards and two touchdowns, while Quan Sweet had six carries for 47 yards and a single touchdown.

Tigers defeat Pickering 49-7; head to playoffs undefeated, top seed

On November 5, the Many Tigers football team wrapped up their regular season play undefeated with a 49-7 rout of the Pickering Red Devils. The Many rushing offense put in their usual dominating performance, but Head Coach Jess Curtis also shown off the impressive passing game of Tabarius Garner, which hadn’t been used much this season.

Michael Woods wins again

It was déjà vu again as Michael Woods won first place at the Toledo Bass Club’s October tournament. Woods flipped small plastics into brush piles and structures in the Lanan area for his 9.28-pound stringer. He also won Big Bass honors of over $150.

Winning streak continues as Tigers dominate Rosepine

The Many Tigers continued their winning streak and domination of District 3 in Class 2A as they defeated the Rosepine Eagles 68-6. Their current domination keeps them atop the Class 2A power rankings and will most likely be the top seed in the playoffs regardless of outcome against their final season game against Pickering at home on November 4 at 7 p.m.

Many Bass Club holds October tournament

The club was going to be smart and pick on Glen Swihart for again winning another first place in the Many Bass Club’s monthly tournament. However, being consistent is the focal point of any bass angler “worth his salt” and Glen is “worth his salt.” Swihart, once again, won the Many Bass Club’s October tournament with a five-fish stringer weighing 17.02 pounds. He caught his fish flipping a jig and soft plastic in brush tops and grass in 5 – 15 feet of water in the Housen area of Toledo Bend. Derek Mong is the second place winner with five-fish limit weighing 14.02 pounds and big bass of the tournament with a 5.41 pound lunker. Johnny Flowers finished in third place with four fish weighing 12.10 pounds.
