Dear Fellow Patriots

The Constitution is nothing but a charter of negative liber-ties. Do you happen to remember who said that, and what effect does that remark have on you, or do you even care at all? What the Constitution really is, is a national guarantee on yours and our personal freedoms, right (inalienable), and the guarantee of our governing body to ensure our personal free-dom, our inalienable rights and to protect every citizen so that they may enjoy those benefits. No, it is not a contract that says that it will supply all of your needs.

I am so proud of myself. I am horrified of automatic machines…..take for instance the gas pump or the ATM machine at the bank or better yet, the car wash. If I had my way, I would never use any of them. I’m even hesitant to grind coffee beans in the grocery store! Well, several weeks ago, I attempted the car wash once again. The last time I drove to the carwash, I drove right through it without getting a wash. Then I had to go into the store, tell why I was there and get a refund, so I could try again. In fact, I’ve stooped so low as to have my brother take my car to get it washed. The rain and middy streets had made my car look horrible. White cars with pollen and mud is not a pretty sight.

My name is Donna and I am addicted to two things: HGTV and NCIS with Leroy Jethro Gibbs!!! Since retiring, I have become obsessive about watching HGTV during the day. It really interests me to see Chip and Joanna of their show, Fixer Upper,
take a rundown old home and make it into the prettiest one on the street. “Are ya’ll ready to see your new home?” Joanna asks.

I don’t think I have ever been happier to see Spring than I have this year. There’s nothing like green grass, blooming plants, pretty flowers and the sounds of children playing in their yards at dusk. Knowing summer is on the way makes me so happy. (I’m not a fan of the high temps, but I wasn’t fond of chilly temps of winter, either.)Indian summers of New Hampshire quickly come to mind. Not to chilly; not too hot, but, just right!!

The nicest thing happened on my birthday! Mom called early and said she and Betty were having coffee. I told her I’d be out in a little while and to keep the coffee hot!I ran into town to Daylight Donuts with plans to get myself a special treat and pick up some glazed donuts to share. While standing in line, one of my favorite former MHS Tiger football players came in. We chatted for a minute as we stood in line and when I ordered my three raspberry jelly donuts and nine glazed, he piped up and told the girl to put that on his tab.

Do you remember the first movie you ever saw in a theater? I do!! I was about two or three-years-old and Mother and Daddy took me along with their friends to see Jimmy Stewart in “The Glen Miller Story.”
