NEW LAWS Beware of a few new laws that recently took effect. They are as follows. Abortion: People who work for abortion providers are prohibited from distributing health information at the Louisiana public schools.

Hubby-dear and I spent the Halloween weekend in Zachary with Davy, Kt and the grandchildren, Riley Kate and Braeden. The weekend started out with a big party of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends and two pots of gumbo. Most everyone was in costume and excitement rose as the sun set and it was dark enough to go trick-or-treating.

No doubt you have questions, in some cases, about who to vote for and what the candidate stands for. Back in the day when you had conservatives and left wings in both parties you tended to look more at the individual. You could believe they would do this, or they would do that. Well that is changed now. In the national elections it is all about party and administration. Look at the party platform and administration and that is what the candidate from that party would stand for. Most of these candidates checks in with the party office when elected and basically they vote whatever way the party wants them to - very few exceptions.

When I pick up the newspaper in the morning, I usually turn to the back page of the front section to see if anyone I know has said goodbye to this world. When I see there is nobody I know, I turn back to another section and ready about the lighter side of life: the comics.

A recent trip to Orange Beach was the perfect way to kick-off my retirement!! Vicki and I headed out early one Thursday morning, a mere two days after I officially became retired, and made it to our destination in seven hours and five minutes. As usual we gabbed all the way. Diann and Granny were ready and waiting when we got there, along with Grady Tuck and Rufus Edward.
