Frank “Frankie” Alden Howard

Graveside services for Frank Howard were held on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Castor Baptist Cemetery, 2057 Slagle Rd, Leesville, with Reverend Craig Forque officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.

The Howard Family understands that social distancing is so important during this time. James Quinton Salter

James Salter, 95, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Florien on February 25, 1925, a son of the late Ottis Levi, Sr. and Easie (Givens) Salter.

After 33 and 1/2 years of dedicated service as a teacher, principal, and supervisor, James retired from the Sabine Parish School Board in 1980. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, gardening, and writing. He was especially proud of the three books that he wrote: Zwolle Louisiana, Our Story and Smelling the Roses. However, he always said that what he enjoyed most in retirement was encountering former students and hearing their stories.

James served as an active Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Zwolle, for more than forty years. He enjoyed the music program of the church, where he sang in the choir for fifty-two years and served as music director for ten years.

Funeral services honoring the life of Thomas Ott, 80, were held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Spring Ridge Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill with Rev. Ricky Wead officiating. Assisting the service will be Bro. Jonathan McManus. Interment followed at Spring Ridge Cemetery.

T.J. was born on June 6, 1940 in Pleasant Hill to Thomas and Tulsa Ott. He entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2020 in Converse.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Tom and Tulsa Ott; wife, Mary Alice Ott; brothers, Melton, Marvin, and Azell Ott; sisters, Lillie Youngblood and Judy Hippler; granddaughter, Holly Mathews.

Patrick M. Ezernack

Funeral services for Patrick Michael Ezernack were held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at New Freedom Fellowship Church with Brother Dean Hillman officiating; burial followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Zwolle.

Pat was born March 24, 1952 in Zwolle to Albert Joseph Ezernack, Sr. and Dorothy Marie (Ebarb) Ezernack and entered into rest on July 23, 2020. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served the Lord and his church in numerous ways. He was also on the board of directors for the Zwolle Loggers and Forestry Festival where he served his profession and his community promoting the logging industry that he worked in for many years. Pat was known throughout the area as a great mechanic, he loved working in the woods, and enjoyed his last job as a school bus driver. He was a devoted family man who always put his loved ones first.

Funeral services for Freddie “Frog” Parrie were held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel with Brother Jimmy Price officiating; burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Zwolle. Fred Robert Parrie was born July 23, 1958 in Converse to Sam Parrie and Trudy (Longoria) Parrie and entered into rest on July 20, 2020 in Many. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, and uncle. Freddie never met a stranger and was a great friend to everyone.

Mable Masters Dowden Grafton was born on Saturday, August 30, 1930 in Florien. She passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at her residence in Hornbeck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny James Masters and Letitia Ida Chance; husband, L. C. Dowden; brothers and sisters, Vera Lewing; Tilton Masters; Carlton Masters; Ray Masters; Myrtle White and John Billy Masters.

Hazel Bessie Wedgeworth Miller

A celebration of life for Hazel Miller will be observed at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many. Her great nephew, Jeff Flenniken, and Mr. Winston Hodge will be officiating. Graveside service followed at the Ft. Jesup Cemetery in Ft. Jesup.

Hazel was born on March 13, 1929 in Many. She left this earth to be with the Lord on July 19, 2020 at Many Healthcare North. She grew up in Many where she attended Many High School. She was a devoted, charter member of Trinity Baptist Church of Many, where she led and served faithfully for over 50 years. She was also a past member of the Eastern Star.

Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived 91 years to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family and friends. Her travels brought her to the Holy Land, Athens, Greece, and Hawaii to name a few. Her life was full of adventures including mission trips within the states.

Betty L. Lewing was born on Monday, July 9, 1945 in Corrigan, Texas. She passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at her residence in Pineville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Ross Richards and Lee Onie (Self) Richards; and a host of brothers and sisters.

Funeral services honoring the life of Charles Anderson, 70, were held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield with Bro. Marshall Ingle officiating. Interment followed at Zion Rest Cemetery in the Wallace Community.

Charles was born on July 25, 1949 in Pleasant Hill to Henry and Annette Anderson. He entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2020 in Shreveport.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Henry Ellis Anderson and Annette Anderson; and his brother, Jim Scruggs.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Betty Sue Anderson; sons, Patrick D Anderson and wife Sunshine; Jeremy M Anderson and wife Crystal; Luke Anderson and wife Brandi; and Bruce Anderson and wife Haley; grandchildren, Tayler Anderson; Coleton Anderson; Amber Boggs; Kaleigh Anderson; Victoria Anderson; Caleb Brandon; Chloe Anderson; Connor Anderson; Bella Anderson; Piper Anderson; Emery Anderson; and Oscar Anderson.

Keith Arthur was born on Friday, February 8, 1963 in Many. He passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Florien. He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Lee Arthur.
