Funeral services for Thelma Mae Sepulvado, 100, of Noble, were held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joseph Ampatt officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Thelma Mae Sepulvado was born on Thursday, March 11, 1920 in Zwolle. She passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elie Garcie and Josephine (Sepulvado) Garcie; husband, Mitchell Sepulvado; sisters, Lucinda Garcie Sepulvado and Lovell Garcie Guidroz; brothers, Clifton Garcie and Eli Garcie Jr; daughters, Mary Helen Ezernack and Loretta Snead; grandson, Reggie Ezernack; granddaughter, Jolene Ezernack; and her step-mother, Bessie Garcie.

Ruby M. Anthony

Ruby was born October 7, 1918 in Many to Dan Miller and Lou (Murphey) Miller and entered into rest on June 29, 2020 in Zwolle. She was a life-long resident of Sabine Parish where she enjoyed her 101 years taking in the beauty of the area. A memorial service for her was held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel with Brother Gene Wright officiating.

Preceding Ms. Ruby in death were her parents; husband, Clyde E. Anthony, Sr.; sons, Robert Dan Anthony; Clyde E. Anthony, Jr.; and son-in-law, S.J. Carter. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Beverly A. Carter of Colfax, Louisiana; Janell A. Hunter and husband, Ed of Martin, Louisiana; Janis Anthony of Many; Lina A. Alford and husband, Dan of Many; and her daughter-in-law, Myra Anthony. In addition, she leaves behind her 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Eva Charlsie Ross Wright was born on Sunday, October 30, 1932 in Many. She died on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at her residence in Baton Rouge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Monroe Ross and Eula Maitlain (Arthur) Ross; husband, Maston Eugene Wright, Jr.; brothers, Edward Columbus “E. C.” Ross; Cecil Clinton “Doc” Ross; William Washington “Bill” Ross and Allen Monroe “Tink” Ross; sisters, Evelyn Louise Ross; Audrey Katherine “Kat” Derrick; Mable Ross; Alma Lea Edwards and Versia Bernice Williams; and her nephews, Orlan Oscar Ross; Randall Gene Ross and Danny Lee Derrick.

Lori (LaLa) Vines was born on Wednesday, April 5, 1972 in Many. She passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Shreveport.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tidley Weldon; maternal grandparents, Rubin and Lovie Manasco; father-in-law, Glyn Doil Vines; and her brother-in-law, Brian Vines.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Vines of Noble; daughters, Ashtyn Vines of Norfolk, Virginia; and Cierra Vines of Provencal; mother, Robbie Jean Manasco Edwards of Fisher; mother-in-law, Alice LaVerne Vines of Zwolle; brothers, Joel Weldon; Clint Edwards and wife Sarah of Kansas City, Missouri; and Daniel Wayne Edwards and wife Jessica of Donaldson, Akansas; half-brother, Donovan Weldon and wife Susan of Austin, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy James Collins and Judy Merle (Callens) Collins.

She is survived by her husband Cliff Burr of Marthaville; daughters, Savannah Anderson of Pleasant Hill; Shianne Sepulvado and husband Dakota of Belmont; and Taylor Burr of Belmont; sons, Shane Burr of Belmont; Shad Burr of Goldonna, Louisiana; brother, Jim Collins and wife Angela of Tega Cay, South Carolina; five grandchildren, one great grandchild; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services for her were held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Francis Kamau officiating.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. James and Mrs. Minnie Semons; her husband, Ben L. Remedies; and her brother-in-law, James Reigle. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Anna Salley and husband, Robert of Bossier City; sister, Arlis Reigle of Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, she leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Leslie Salley, Erin Salley, and Brandon Salley all of Bossier City; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Honoring her as pallbearers were John Adair, Scott Wyatt, Jeff Evans, Joe Dewil, and Wade Seegers.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Truman Durr, 84, were held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Wallace Baptist Church in Pelican with Bro. Donny Durr officiating. Assisting the service was Bro. Jeff Jinks. Interment followed at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville.

Truman was born on September 6, 1935 in Rambin, Louisiana to J.Y. “Jake” Durr and Lillian Blue Durr. He entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2020 in Shreveport.

Truman was the best all-around student of Ajax High School. He was involved with numerous organizations including Shriner’s Hospital, Lion’s Club, Freemasonry, President of The Battle of Pleasant Hill for over 25 years, Mayor of Pleasant Hill for 8 years, served on the Jury Commission in Sabine Parish for over 25 years, worked for BMA Insurance for more than 20 years, and later retired from Rose-Neath Funeral Home as a Funeral Director’s Assistant.

Funeral services for Raydon Thaxton, 100, of Florien, were held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Warren and Rev. Rickey Robertson officiating and Stacy Stewart providing the music. Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Raydon Maxie Thaxton was born on Friday, October 31, 1919 in Many. He passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his residence in Florien. Raydon worked for the pipeline company for 17 years. After moving back from Beaumont, Texas he became a farmer and rancher until he was 82 years old. The remainder of his years he worked for Brad Browning Cattle Company as Brad’s Foreman. He also served in the Navy for 6 years before and after WWII as a Petty Officer First Class.
