Joe Cecil Jacobs

Funeral services honoring the life of Joe Jacobs, 75, were held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Old Pisgah Baptist Church in Marthaville. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dean Johnson. Interment followed at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.

Joe Cecil Jacobs was born on August 26, 1944 in Pleasant Hill to John Melvin and Claudine Jacobs. He entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2020 in Shreveport. He leaves behind his much loved wife of 46 years, Barbara Bozeman Jacobs; five children, Joe Cecil Jacobs, Jr. and wife Callie Jacobs of Pleasant Hill; Brad Jacobs of Pleasant Hill; Connie Jacobs of Natchitoches; Danny Jacobs and wife Rosemary Jacobs of Natchitoches; and Glenda Jacobs Bialecki of Natchitoches. He has 16 beloved grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Linda Gay Rogers

Funeral services for Linda Rogers, 64, of Zwolle, will be held at Aimwell Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Sandifer officiating. Burial followed in the Aimwell Cemetery.

Linda Rogers was born on Wednesday, June 29, 1955 in Many. She passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Lewing, Jr. and Nira (Cook) Lewing.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Rogers of Zwolle; children, April Lewing and husband Chad of West Monroe; Amber Fullerton and husband Cory of Robeline; and Chey Remedies and wife Lynsi of Zwolle; step-sons, Jarrett Rogers of Many; Tony Rogers of Many; fur baby, Reba; sisters, Glinda Lewing of Many; Cindy Wright and husband Rex of Many; brother, Corey Lewing; grandchildren: Nathan Remedies, Haydon Rezzoffi, Cayden Fullerton, Macs Remedies and Brooklynn Remedies; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

David Champion 71, of Zwolle died on Monday, June 1, 2020 in Shreveport. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Foster and Arvis Champion; brothers, Bo Champion and Jerry Champion.

He is survived by his children, Chad Champion, Jodie Epperson, Rambo and Button; two grandsons; along with nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for John Burns, 75, of Noble, will be held at Noble Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Price and Rev. Daniel Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Noble Cemetery.

John Burns was born on Thursday, November 30, 1944 in Silsbee, Texas. He passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his residence in Noble. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan Franklin Burns and Eula (Cain) Burns; and his brothers, Alfred Nelson and Jack Burns.

John was a deacon at Noble Baptist Church, a 52 year member of Little Flock Lodge #236 and was a 32 degree Scottish Rite. He was also a noble of El Karubah Shriners, York Rite and Knights Templar.

James Floyd Klinger, Jr.

Funeral services honoring the life of James Klinger, Jr. were held on June 5, 2020 at Pendleton Assembly of God Church in Many with Brother Daniel Davis officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. James was born March 10, 1967 in Loganton, Pennsylvania to James Floyd Klinger Sr. and Carol (Roth) Klinger.

He proudly served 8 years in the United States Army. He took great pride in knowing he helped to keep his country safe and protected from enemies invading and attacking it.

Emma Savell

Emma Savell, 95, of Florien, was born on Monday, October 6, 1924 in Florien. She passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Savell; parents, Luther Lois Sandel, Sr. and Clara Alice (Thompson) Sandel; brother, Luther Sandel, Jr.; sisters, Annie Laurie Pennington and Ewel Ava Hendrickson; and her son-in-law, Rayford Eddington.

She is survived by her children, Louise Eddington of Many; Virginia DuBose and husband Ben of Florien; Margaret Witt of Florien; Freeman Savell and friend Christy of Stonewall; Marie Calhoun and husband Buddie of Natchitoches; sister, Vivian Tynes of Lumberton, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Prospect Cemetery with Rev. John Thompson officiating.

David “Bo” Wayne Knippers

Funeral services for David Wayne Knippers, 53, of Florien, were held at Middle Creek Baptist Church with Rev. John Lewing, III and Rev. James Hickman officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

David Wayne Knippers was born on Monday, April 3, 1967 in Many. He passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin D. Knippers and Eunice Browning Knippers; sister, Christy Knippers Potts; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Hicks.

He is survived by his wife, Mari Ensinger Knippers of Florien; sons, Jaylynn Dewayne Knippers of Florien; Bladen Cole Knippers of Florien; daughters, Summer Ann Carter of Fisher; Kayla Lynn Carter of Florien; grandson, Zayden Scott Wiseman of Fisher; sisters, Kathy Hicks of Plainview, Louisiana; Anita May and husband Raymond of Frierson, Louisiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael Ezernack was born April 18, 1962 in Converse to Melvin Ardis Ezernack and Mary Helen (Sepulvado) Ezernack and entered into rest on May 23, 2020 at his residence in Zwolle. Graveside services for him were held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Father Joseph Ampatt officiating.

Preceding Reggie in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin A.Ezernack; grandparents, Thomas and Claudia Ezernack; grandfather, Mitchell Sepulvado; sister, Jolene Ezernack; and his grandson, Landon Ezernack.

Myrtle “Eloise” Thomas

Mrs. Myrtle Thomas, age 92, of Bossier City, formerly of Negreet, passed away on the morning of May 24, 2020, at the St. Joseph Hospice/Carpenter House in Shreveport.

She was born February 21, 1928, in Sabine Parish, daughter of the late Arch P. Wedgeworth and Sirena Lovelady Wedgeworth. Eloise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert Clenard “R.C.” Thomas; daughter, Janice Marie Thomas; four brothers, Lee Henry Wedgeworth; Leonard Preston Wedgeworth; Orbon Clifford Wedgeworth; Wiley Paul Wedgeworth; and two sisters, Maida Esther Wedgeworth Lightfoot and Vera Clara Wedgeworth Slaughter.

Leland James “Jim” Campbell

Funeral services for Leland Campbell were held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Siloam Baptist Church with Brother Wilton Anthony officiating. Burial followed at Belmont Cemetery.

Jim was born in Longview, Washington. The early part of his career in the plywood industry brought him to Sabine Parish, where he met and married the love of his life, Viva Anne Skinner. Together Jim and Viva raised four sons, Jerry, Brad, Jimmy, and Matthew. Eventually Jim and Viva retired on Toledo Bend. He was a president and medallion member of the Many Bass Club for many years. He was a very respected tournament angler and he enjoyed teaching others how to fish while keeping his holes top secret. Jim was recently baptized along with his grandson Mason and became a member of Siloam Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army where he was a Staff Sergeant. Jim was a humbled tanker who protected his country while working in Germany for his four-year tour.
