Graveside services celebrating the life of Mr. Julian Kennieth Walker were held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Pilgrim’s Rest Church Cemetery with Bro. Steve Speer and Bro. Gerald Martin officiating; interment immediately followed in the church cemetery in Many. Kennieth was born November 14, 1937 in Many to Willie Genieva (Tibbett) Walker and Harry Julian Walker and entered into rest on November 7, 2020 in Shreveport.

Phillip Nolan Rivers

Funeral services for Phillip Rivers, 55, of Ebarb, were held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. A mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Keith Garvin officiating. Following, a service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Wilton Anthony and Rev. Wayne Chance officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery.

Phillip Rivers was born on Friday, July 23, 1965 in Shreveport. He passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Earl Rivers; and his godchild, Danielle Marie Malmay.

He is survived by his wife, Trish Rivers of Ebarb; son, Jacob Rivers and wife Elizabeth of Zwolle; mother, Ann Rivers of Ebarb; sisters, Cindy Ezernack and husband Randy of Zwolle; Julie Malmay and husband Jason of Zwolle; brothers, Keith Rivers and wife Tina of Zwolle; Joel Rivers and wife Charlette of Ebarb; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Carroll Glen Stroud gained his angel wings on October 18, 2020 at the age of 75. He is preceded in death by his parents Linda Horton Stroud and Thomas “Jack” Stroud; brothers, Clyde; Lyndel; and Hubert Stroud; sister-in-laws, Lois and Carolyn Stroud; brother-in-law, Jude Gremillion; niece, Samantha Stroud.

He is survived by his brothers, Joe Stroud (Shirley); Douglas Stroud; sister, Kathleen Gremillion. Graveside services will take place at Florien Cemetery on November 21, 2020 at 11am. Services will be conducted by Reverend Kenneth Leach. In keeping with COVID 19 restrictions, family is requesting you wear a mask.

Harold Joe Craig

Graveside service honoring the life of Harold Craig were held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Cassell Cemetery, Converse. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jimmy Price. Joe was born on November 16, 1939 in Converse to Luther Otto Craig and Ethelyn Fleming Craig, he entered into eternal rest on November 14, 2020 in Mansfield.

Joe’s favorite past times were riding the backroads and visiting with family and friends. He spent many years dirt track car racing and was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing.

Preceding Joe in death are his parents; wife, Helen Springer Craig; son, Rod Craig; and brother, Tim Craig.

Daisy Moore, 88, went to her heavenly home November 13, 2020. Daisy was born March 20, 1932 to Joseph Charles and Annie Rozelia Cox on Cane River (Natchitoches), Louisiana. Daisy graduated as Valedictorian from Natchitoches High and then attended Northwestern University. She was a member of the Purple Jackets and graduated with honors. Daisy had a great love for education and was the first member of her family to receive a college degree.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Peggy Maricelli were held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church with Bro. Bryan Jennings and Bro. Jim Freeman officiating; interment will immediately follow at the church cemetery. She was born in Urania, Louisiana to Teola (Skinner) Webb and Sam Roy Webb and entered into rest on November 5, 2020 in Natchitoches, Texas.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Webb; husband, Nelson Anthony Maricelli; daughter, Barbara Barnhill; sister, Maxine St.Pierre; brother, Jimmy Webb; and her grandchild, Chase King. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jeanie Curtis and husband, Douglas of Many; Judy Broadway and husband, Ronny of Many; she also has 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Graveside services for Sandra Terrell, 52, of Florien were held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Chance officiating.

Sandy Terrell was born on Thursday, March 28, 1968 in Many. She passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at her residence in Florien.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wiley and Grace Ross Cummings; and her granddaughter, Memphis Grace Arnold.

She is survived by her husband, Lane Terrell of Pleasant Hill; daughter, Lauren Arnold and husband Brendan of Florien; son, Dalton Cozier of Benton; parents, Lloyd and Donna Savell of Negreet; grandparents, Lester and Marjorie Savell of Florien; sisters, Carolyn Anthony and husband Brad of Washington, Louisiana; Sonya Savell Townson of Florien; brother, Bubba Savell and wife Kaci of Florien; grandson, Cole Leach; granddaughter, Brynlee Arnold; niece, Tori Townson; nephews, Trevor Anthony and Eli Savell; along with a host of friends.

Billy Burkett

Billy Burkett

Brother Billy Burkett went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 1, 2020. Born in Converse to John and Gladys Burkett on December 5, 1929, Brother Billy preached his first sermon when he was 16 years old. He surrendered to the ministry at the age of 17 and served as a Baptist preacher for 72 years, with all but two years of his service in churches in Northwest Louisiana. Brother Billy served as a Missions Pastor in Alamosa, Colorado during 1962-64.

He devoted his entire adult life to serving God and his family. He met his wife of 62 years, Mary Louise Pentecost, while preaching at Fellowship Baptist church in Sabine Parish in 1948. His most recent pastorate was at Bethany Baptist Church near Robeline, where he served up until 2019. He was instrumental in the establishment of Clara Springs Baptist Camp and worked tirelessly on other projects for the Louisiana Baptist Convention, District 8, over the past 50 years.

Funeral services for Ruby McDonald, 92, of Noble, were held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Cassell Cemetery.

Ruby McDonald was born on Sunday, March 18, 1928 in Delhi, Louisiana to Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Woolsey. She passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 in Zwolle.

Heaven has gained another Jewel a Ruby for our Lords crown. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Ruby was completely devoted to her family. She loved completely and unconditionally. So many memories we each hold dear to our hearts. Ruby loved her Lord and Savior, her faith holding her during many hardships in her life. Ruby married the love of her life, Joe McDonald and together they raised their family in a home built of love and faith. Fly high till we meet again.
