Lester Savell was born on Thursday, March 24, 1927 in Florien. He passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Daisy (Dalton) Savell; brothers, Clarence Savell; Henry Savell; Edgar Savell; and Milton Savell; sisters, Evie Lea Walker; Opal Walker Corley; son-in-law, Billy Byles; granddaughter, Sandra “Sandy” Savell Terrell; and great-great-granddaughter, Memphis Grace Arnold.

Graveside funeral services for Joyce Brandon were held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Zwolle cemetery with Bro. Jerry Penfield officiating.

Joyce was born in Post, Texas on August 11, 1924 and passed away December 22, 2020.

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Zwolle. She had a passion for Bible Study and did so daily. She was a homemaker and an avid quilter.

Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Buvens, husband Victor Brandon; parents, Jesse and Katie Clary; sister, Gayle Woods; brothers, J. R. Doyle and Ansel Clary; brother-in-law, Dave Milligan; and son-in-law; Richard Basham.

Donald Dudley Muncy – loving husband, father, and friend – died December 13, 2020. He was 84 years old. He was born December 14, 1935 in Laird Hill, Texas to Wilburn Dudley and Mildred Ethel Reed Muncy. Educated at Jeanerette High School and University of Southwestern Louisiana. After a successful career in the oil and gas industry and traveling the world with Miss Ann, he retired to Toledo Bend in Many, Louisiana where he enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing and golfing. A devout member of the Zwolle United Methodist Church, he served the Lord sharing his talents in church callings that shaped and defined him. He will be remembered for his love of family, his entertaining stories, his powerful testimony, and willingness to help a neighbor in need.

Mary Louise Sibley Gandy

Louise was born February 26, 1926 to Florien Tilman and Ida Mae McCollister Sibley in Lou Ann, Arkansas. She was the oldest of 6 children. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in the Shuteye community where she served as the pianist. Aunt Sadie loved to travel with her late husband, Hurshel W. Gandy when he worked on the pipelines all over the United States and several groups from Many on the Carnival Cruise Lines.

She is survived by her nieces, Deborah Sibley Peterson and James of Angleton, Texas; Denise Sibley Cookson and Alan of Hurst, Texas; Judy Sibley Savage of Conroe, Texas; and Lora Sibley Cain of Sterlington, Louisiana; sister-in-laws, Delma Sibley of Beaumont, Texas; Martha Berel Sibley of Angleton, Texas; and Freida Sibley of Cascade, Montana; 1 great nephew, 3 great nieces and 1 great great niece; and 3 great nephews

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Sherman Salter were held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Little Flock Baptist Church with Brother Donnie Paul Lewing officiating; interment followed in The Little Flock Cemetery. Sherman was born January 27, 1938 in Florien to Betty Mae (Cook) Salter and Thomas Crockett Salter and he entered into rest on December 12, 2020 in Lafayette.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Crockett Salter; wife, Paula Faye (Lewing) Salter; daughter, Lindsey Salter; sisters, Mavis Miller; Leona Carroll; Aliene Davis; and Syble Bush; and his brother, Sid Salter. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Amy Salter of Pineville; daughter, Megan Nichols and husband, David of Florien; brother, Benny Salter and wife, Corrine of Minden; his 3 grandchildren, Alan; Jase; and Temperance Nichols. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Michael Phillips, 79, of Robeline were held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wayne Chance officiating. Burial followed in the Fort Jesup Cemetery.

Mike Phillips was born on Thursday, January 9, 1941 in Chatham, Louisiana. He passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at University Hospital in New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Beason Phillips; daughter, Sherry Phillips Jones; father, William (Bill) Phillips; mother, Adlena Goza Phillips; brother, Joe Phillips; and sister, Ann Phillips Collinsworth.

Johnnie Norman Craig

Graveside services honoring the life of Johnnie Norman Craig, 83, of Converse were held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 located at Noble Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jimmy Price and Bro. Clinton Alford. Johnnie was born October 5, 1937 to Luther Otto Craig and Ethelyn Fleming Craig. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 12, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.

Johnnie retired from Beaird Industries after 38 years. Following retirement, he served as a member of the Belmont Water Board. He was a lifelong member of Midway Baptist Church in Converse. Johnnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and cherished family gatherings, but his favorite pastime was spent on Toledo Bend fishing with his wife, Oneta.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Joe and Tillman Craig; grandson, Christopher Luke Craig; and great-grandson, Reed Sistrunk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Red” Parrie, Jr.; parents, John Remedies and Trudy (Longoria) Remedies; sisters, Lucille Remedies Page; Eleanor June Remedies; and Shirley Remedies Lowe; brother, Fred Robert Parrie; daughter, Beverly Jane Parrie; and her great granddaughter, Kimberly BreAnn Bartch.

James Brumley, Jr. was born on Wednesday, May 30, 1934 in Mt. Zion. He passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at his residence in Walkerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Alfice Brumley, Sr. and Annie Lou (Lites) Brumley; mother, Addie Ethel Brumley; brother, Terry Brumley; and sister, Autherine Harrison.

He is survived by his wife, Lanell Walker Brumley of Walkerville; daughter, Jamie Brumley Rule and husband Jarrett of Walkerville; son, James “Jay” Alfice Brumley, III and wife Kary of Anacoco; sisters, Margie Ebarb of Houston, Texas; Claudine Mizell and husband Roy of Many; grandchildren, Kade Hornsby Brumley; Walker Rule; Macy Rule and Jayce Brumley; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
