Susan Fisher Hagel

Susan Fisher Hagel

Susan Hagel, 77, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home in Many. Susan was born February 5, 1944, the oldest of 10 children born to Bertha (Hopwood) and Raymond Fisher. She graduated from Manual High School in 1962, where she met the love of her life and future husband Wayne Ira Hagel, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Nancy Goewey, and one brother, Raymond George Fisher.

Susan proudly worked for Caterpillar Tractor for 30 years, retiring in 1994, when she and her husband relocated to Toledo Bend Lake in Louisiana. She became active in the Toledo Lions Club, the Negreet Booster and PTA.

Susan never met a stranger. Once you met her, you were a friend for life. She had a accrued many endearing titles in her life. Mom, Maw, Sis, Susie, Aunt Sis, Aunt Susie, Mrs. Hagel and “Fisher girl”. She loved being from a large family with quite a legacy of love.

A graveside service for Linda Byles was held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Robeline with Bro. Christopher Dew officiating. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Chad Byles, Kenny Byles, Christopher Dew, Dexton Dew, Donnie Parker, and Joe Wysinger.

Linda Dianne Byles, also known as Dee to many, passed away on September 9, 2021 in Natchitoches. She was born on May 26, 1950 to Don H. Moore and Mildred Berry Stoker in Pleasant Hill. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Berry Stoker and her step father, Don R. Stoker; father, Don H. Moore; son, Scottie Byles; and grandson, Cole Byles.

Funeral services honoring the life of Johnny Paddie, Jr. were held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zwolle. Officiating the service will be Fr. Keith Garvin. Interment will be held at Converse Cemetery, Converse.

Johnny was born on April 19, 1954, in Shreveport to Johnny Rheet Paddie, Sr. and Mary Laverne Procell Paddie. He entered into eternal rest on September 13, 2021, in Many.

Funeral services for Nancy Cook, 70, of Many were held on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Penfield officiating. Burial followed in the Bethsadia Cemetery.

Nancy Faye Cook was born on Wednesday, May 23, 1951 in Zwolle. She passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin H. Cook; parents, Jack and Mary Remedies; sisters, Jeannie Sepulvado and Mira Renee Sepulvado; daughter, Joanna McComic; brother-in-law, Jerry King; son-in-law, Brian Keith Sims; brother, James W. (J. W.) Remedies; her great granddaughter, Alexia Wilczewski; and her son-in-law, Carl Leone.

Kathy Diane Mitchell Dove

It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Kathy Diane Mitchell Dove, 67, of Natchitoches announce her passing September 3, 2021. She was born on April 25, 1954.

Mrs. Kathy passed away in the comfort of her home in Many.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bennie Lloyd Dove; three daughters, Tara Ortiz; Carla (Daniel) Ebert; Kristina (Curtis) Cox; ten grandchildren, Meagan Dortlon; Wesley Ebert; Bailey Ebert; Gracie Ebert; Alejandro Ortiz; Gabriela Ortiz; Haylee Cox; Cameron Cox; Melanie Cox; and Joseph Cox; siblings, Doug (Doris) Mitchell; Cecil Mitchell; and many family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Gracie Wyatt Mitchell and Henry “Truly” Mitchell.

Through the years Mrs. Kathy enjoyed tending to her flowers, watching birds, sitting outside on the porch listening to her wind chimes, traveling anywhere she was able to go, but more importantly, spending time with loved ones.

Joseph Ezernack, 82, entered into eternal rest on September 6, 2021, in Converse.

Funeral services were held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield. Officiating the service will be Bro. Rick Wing. Interment will be held at Cassel Cemetery in Converse.

Gerald came from humble beginnings, but carved his own path and was loved and admired by all that knew him. He worked hard for everything he had and was always willing to help those in need. He made friends easily and loved to joke and tease. Heaven gained new entertainment. Gerald enjoyed working his land and cattle. He deeply loved God and his family. He has left us in body, but will always ride along beside us.

Betty Bostian was born on Monday, April 8, 1929 in Mansfield. She passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Many Health Care North in Many.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl White; parents, Oscar and Leona Garner; Leona Duval; brother and sisters.

Stevie L. Carroll

Stevie Carroll was born on Monday, October 6, 1941 in Florien. He passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit Carroll and Leona (Salter) Carroll; sister, Patsy Ellzey; and his nephew, David Farmer.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Farmer of Florien; Cynthia Taylor of Roswell, Georgia; nieces, Margie Sloan and husband Orlando of Florien; Brooke Taylor of Stonewall; nephew, Timothy Taylor and wife Olivia of Memphis, Texas; and his great nephew, Thomas Fitch of Shreveport; great nieces, Adrianna; Isabella; Emelina Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Myrtle Pennington; and his brother, Walter “Buddy” Pennington.

Barton Lee Rumsey

Funeral Services for Barton Lee Rumsey, 82, of Many were held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Cypress Bend Resort with the burial to follow in the Many Cemetery in Many.

Barton Lee Rumsey was born to Richard A. and Elizabeth Rumsey on July 17, 1939 in DeRidder. He passed away peacefully at his home in Many on August 24, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Forrest Rumsey; a sister, Marjorie Rumsey Cryar; and his son-in-law, Malcom Kent Williams.
