Scott Allen Ray

Funeral services for Scott Ray, 54, of Converse were held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at San Patricio Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Asbell and Rev. Jimmy Price officiating. Burial followed in the Cassell Cemetery.

Scott Ray was born on Thursday, February 2, 1967 in Lake Charles. He passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvia and Henry Ray; Aros and Jessie Granger.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ray of Converse; daughter, Destiny Nicole Ray of Converse; two sons, Shelton Allen Ray of Converse; and Christopher Dale Lee Ray of Converse; father, Ronnie Ray of Ebarb; mother, Margaret Sepulvado and step-father, Gerald of Converse; sister, Laura Weathy of Noble; two brothers, Mark Ray and Shannon LaRoux of Converse; and Robert Ray of Ebarb; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services honoring the life of Stephanie Cartinez, 50, were held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, located at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Many Chapel. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ronnie Sandifer.

Stephanie was born on August 5, 1971, in Shreveport to Glenn Doyle Cartinez and Pamela Ann Sepulvado Cartinez. She entered into eternal rest on October 16, 2021, in Shreveport.

Preceding Stephanie are her parents, Glenn (King) Cartinez and Pamela Ann Cartinez. She is survived by her spouse, Roberto (Antonio) Ramirez of Zwolle; son, Gavin Ariel Quintero of Zwolle; daughters, Anabella Maria Ramirez and Anamiya Lordes Ramirez of Zwolle; brother, Joey Glen Cartinez and wife Tricia of Zwolle; mother-in-law, Maria Lordes Ramirez of Mexico; nephews, Kirkland Cartinez and Cheyton Cartinez of Zwolle; niece, Brisa Cartinez of Bossier City.

George Everett Miles

George Everett Miles

George Miles, age 90, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on November 10, 2021.

George was born in Wharton, Texas and is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Scribner and Loyce E. Miles; sister, Lena Ruth Hurlbut.

George is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Bonnie Fox Miles; children, daughter, Brenda Zorn (husband Steve); son, George Miles Jr. (wife Carey); and son, Johnny Miles (wife Monica); grandchildren, Shane; Amanda; Chris and Shawn; Chez and Chris; Tyler and Jordyn; great grandchild, Bryson.

George served in the Army during the Korean War. Afterwards he worked in the automotive industry for 50 years until he retired as General Manager from McGinnis Cadillac. He married Bonnie, the love of his life, and moved to Toledo Bend where he lived until he went home to Jesus.

George exemplified God’s love and wisdom to everyone he met. When people think of him, they smile. He will be loved and greatly missed.

Bobby Slaydon Jr., 56, of Florien entered eternal rest on Friday, November 12th, 2021. A celebration of Bobby’s life was held on November 15th, 2021, at The Life Church in Many with a graveside service to follow.

Bobby was born on December 12th, 1964, in Merryville, Louisiana to loving parents Bobby Slaydon Sr. and Shirley Slaydon. Awaiting Bobby in Heaven were his father Bobby Slaydon Sr. and father-in-law Donald P. Anthony. Bobby will earnestly await for his loving bride of 25 years, Karen Anthony Slaydon. His children, sons Logan Slaydon and wife Meagan; Jacob McComic, wife Valerie and grandson Jace; Nicholas Slaydon and partner Cassidy Crist. Mother Shirley Slaydon; brother, Kevin Slaydon and wife Cindy; sister, Anna Pollock and husband Troy; Mother-in-law, Linda Wilbanks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services honoring the life of James were held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at New Freedom Fellowship, Many, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Rev. Dean Hillman. Interment was held at Zwolle Cemetery.

Robert Nelson Ott

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert Ott, 77, were held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Mitchel Baptist Church. Officiating were Bro. Bobby, pastor of Mitchell Baptist. Interment followed at Spring Ridge Cemetery near Pleasant Hill.

Robert was born on August 27, 1944 in Pleasant Hill to Tom and Tulsa Miller Ott and passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to fish. Preceding him in death are his parents and four siblings; sisters, Lily Youngblood; Judy Hippler; brothers, Melton Ott; and T.J. Ott.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenna Rains Ott; sons, James Ott and Benjamin Ott; sisters, Lucille Rivers; and Debra Ott; brother, Franklin Ott; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Robert as pallbearers were Thomas Workmaster, Lee Hardy, Wayne Rains, Junior Hardy, Jerry Rains, Jonathan Workmaster, and Thomas Anderson.

Latreece Renae Sparks was born on Sunday, June 2, 1985 in Natchitoches. She passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George Manasco and Margaret Self; Henry Eddie Buxton, Sr. and Della Paul Buxton; Vernie and Evon Thaxton; and Edward and Marie Sparks.

Clifton Hart was born on Monday, July 11, 1949 in Shreveport. He passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his residence in Robeline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Hart and Violet (Carroll) Hart; and his brother, Dick Hart.

He is survived by his two daughters, Tammy Adkins and husband Jeff of Argyle, Texas; and Angela Lee of Orange, Texas; his son, Clifton Hart of Sheridan, Arkansas; brother, Charles Hart; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

James David Meshell

James David Meshell

Funeral services for James Meshell, 78, of Noble, were held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Frances Kamau officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

James David Meshell was born on Saturday, February 6, 1943 in Zwolle. He passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Byrd Hospital in Leesville.

David graduated from Ebarb High School. He was a devoted catholic and faithfully attended mass when able. Everyone that knew David, knew that he loved watching basketball. He loved cheering for the Ebarb Rebels, and also enjoyed watching Pro-Games. He was dearly loved by his family, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Cora Meshell; brothers, Baby Joseph; Jimmy Ray (Jim) Meshell; and Rufus Gene Meshell.

He is survived by his sister, Ruby Meshell Lyon; brother, Walter (Tootsie Roll) Meshell, Jr.; and sister, Linda Faye Meshell; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
