Negreet softball field named to honor the late James “Buddy” Veuleman

Negreet softball field named to honor the late James “Buddy” Veuleman

James A. “Buddy” Veuleman

On an overcast day in Negreet, the family and friends of James A. “Buddy” Veuleman gathered to honor him.

Buddy served as District 2 school member for almost nine years. During his years of service it became evident that the Lady Indians of Negreet High School needed a softball field. With help from the community and the Army Corp of Engineers, a new softball field was completed. Many improvements have been made to the field over the last 10 years.

At the request of Negreet High School, Sabine Parish School Board voted to honor Mr. Buddy by naming this field after him. On April 13, 2021 surrounded by family and friends the softball field at Negreet High School was named the Buddy V. Field.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Negreet community and the Sabine Parish School Board for extending this honor to Buddy.
