Services for Mary Dottie Thomas, 95, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21,2013, at the Shady Grove Baptist Church on La. 191 North. Interment followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Rev. Donnie Paul Lewing officiated. Visitation was held at the church beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 until the time of the service. Mrs. Thomas was a native of Sabine Parish. She was born on Nov. 14, 1917, to Paul Guevara and Alice Conterio. Mrs. Thomas owned and operated the Bison Marina and Fishing Camp for many years. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by a niece, Mildred Jordan and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. Honoring Mrs. Thomas by serving as pallbearers were Randy Jordan, Dillon Manshack, Mike Anderson, Pat Strickland, James Thomas, Col. George Rose and James Anderson.
