Random Ramblings

By Daniel Jones

Veterans Day is an annual observance celebrated on November 11 yearly that honors military veterans, meaning all persons who served in the United States Armed Forces and coincides with other celebrations throughout the world such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, that marks the anniversary of the end of World War I, or the “War to End All Wars.”

For several years now, I’ve had a folder of information provided by Mary Rivers that profiles a number of veterans from the Zwolle and Ebarb area. There’s literally a book’s worth of profiles, many of which not only show how their service to our country, but how those people have continued their service in the years after, whether through business or simply driving a school bus. We here at the Index do sincerely hope you enjoy.
