Wilbur “Sonny” Hayes Farrar

Wilbur “Sonny” Hayes Farrar, 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather,  brother, uncle and friend to many, went to be with The Lord on March 27, 2014. Funeral services honoring his life were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Donnie Paul Lewing, Bro. Joe Hendrickson and Danny Manuel officiated.
Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery. “Sonny” was born on August 15, 1933, in Many. He entered into eternal rest on March 27, 2014, at Cornerstone Hospital in Bossier City. Sonny worked at Fort Polk for 25 years and retired. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years and recently joined the Shriners Club. He was an active  ember

Funeral service for Betty West Harper, 74, of DeRidder was held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Diamond Baptist Church at 151 Diamond Baptist Church Road near DeRidder with the Rev. Dale Miller officiating. Burial followed at Oakhill Cemetery near Oakdale with the Rev. Fred Hartzell officiating, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Betty died on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center after a
lengthy illness. Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, 3- 8 p.m. at Diamond Baptist Church. Betty was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and worked to support others who spread the word about Jesus. She was a graduate of the Mather School of Nursing, which operated at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans and took science and other courses at Tulane University. She was a registered nurse for more than 40 years in Baton Rouge, Covington,
