Funeral services for Leona Mae Salter Carroll, 94, of Florien were held on Saturday, Dec. 27 at Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Thompson and Bro. Patrick Morgan officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Leona was born in Many on Dec. 18, 1920. She entered into eternal rest on Dec. 21, 2014 at Sabine Retirement and Rehab Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Crockett Salter and Bettie Cook Salter; husband, Kermit Sidney Carroll and grandson David Farmer. She is survived by her son, Stevie L. Carroll; daughters, Patsy Ellzey, Susan Farmer and Cynthia Taylor; grandchildren, Margie Fitch, Timothy Taylor and Brooke Taylor; great-grandson, Thomas Fitch; brothers, Sherman Salter, Benny Salter and a host of family and friends. Memorial Services for Harold Kendall Jackson, 75, of Many will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 beginning at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in  wolle. Harold Kendall Jackson was born on Feb. 24, 1939 in Carnegie, Okla. He passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at his residence in Many. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Eucharist Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a volunteer of St. Vincent DePaul and the Cypress Bend Golf Resort. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Virginia Ann Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Jackson of Many; son, Scott Jackson and wife, Lynn, of Dripping Springs, Texas; daughter, Gwen Jackson of Leander, Texas; sister, Janice Picha and husband, Charles, of Lufkin, Texas; brother, Phillip Jackson of Ft.

Funeral Services for Coy Holcomb, 73, of Florien, were held on Monday, Dec. 22, at Antioch Baptist Church in Florien with Bros. Wilton Anthony and Jimmy Speight officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery in Florien. Coy Holcomb was born on Monday, Oct. 20, 1941 in Sumrall, Miss. He passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at his residence in Florien. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Callie Kitchens Holcomb; first wife, Carolyn Salter Holcomb; siblings, Clynell Holcomb Skaggs, Ermalee Holcomb Nobles; infant brother and nephews, Jeremy Brent Salter, Anthony Holcomb and Scott Holcomb. He is survived by his wife, Jerry Holcomb of Florien; daughter, Trish Holcomb Coffey and husband, Matt, of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; son, Jason Holcomb and wife, Michelle,  f Florien; step-daughter, Karen Dockens and fiancé, Thomas, of Houston, Texas; sisters, Runella Graham of Sumrall, Miss.

Funeral services for Connie “Suzie” Jacks, 56, of Hemphill, Texas were held on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Pendleton Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Daniel Davis officiated. Interment followed in the Randolph Cemetery. Suzie was born on Dec. 21, 1957 in Goldsboro, N.C. She entered into eternal rest on Dec. 16, 2014 in Shreveport after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Travis Earl Layfield and aunt, Myrtle Randolph. She is survived by her husband, Buck Jacks of Hemphill, Texas; mother, Bonnie Randolph Layfield of Many; sister, Brenda Shanley and husband, Jim, of Many; brothers, Tim Layfield and wife Debbie of Many, LA, Randy Layfield and wife Lawana of Many, LA; and a host of family and friends.
