Wanda Sue Ritter Peshoff

Wanda Sue Ritter Peshoff, 67, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, with her faithful family at her side.Born in Shreveport to Wil-liam Edward and Hazel Oree Neal Ritter, Mrs. Peshoff moved to Lake Charles in 1966, where she married her husband and raised her sons. She worked for Fire Safety for thirty years, retir-ing as Office Manager in 2004. She was a faithful member of Moss Bluff Bible Church. Her greatest joys were cooking for and spending time with her fam-ily and attending her grandchil-dren’s sporting events.Mrs. Peshoff is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Joe G. Peshoff; sons, Joe G.

Lizzie Hope

Lizzie B. Hope, 81, of Lake Charles passed away at 11:30 .m., Friday, June 12, 2015 in a  local hospital. She was born in Hemphill, Texas and has lived in Lake Charles for the past twelve years. Ms. Hope loved her family, enjoyingSunday Dinners with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting with friends. She is survived by daughter, Vicki Danos and husband, Darryl; sons, Tracy Stephens and wife, Dollie, Randall K. Stephens and wife, Gloria and Donald H. “Don” Cooper; 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and her beloved pet, Sassy. Her graveside service was on June 16 in Florien Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip North officiated. Malcolm Cole

Funeral services for Malcolm L. Cole, 75, of Hornbeck, were held June 10, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Leach officiating. Burial followed in the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Malcolm, the son of Lewis and Fourthie Jones Cole, was born Nov. 8, 1939 in Plainview. He passed away at his residence in Hornbeck,  Saturday, June 6, 2015. Malcolm retired as a Lieutenant from the Louisiana State Police after 26 years. He then worked at the Used Car Commission for 5 year and for the past 12 years he has worked for Cubic at Fort Polk. He also served in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Lavell Cole and sister, Janis Fletcher.

Juanita Bray

Mrs. Juanita Wright Bray,92, passed away at Montclair Park Assisted Living on  Thursday, June 11, 2015, after a brief illness. A graveside service was held on June 15, at the Northwest LA Veterans Cemetery followed by a memorial service in the Osborn Chapel. Officiating was Dr. Tom Harrison and assisted by Dr. Scott Tatum of Broadmoor Baptist Church.Mrs. Bray was a native of Negreet and a resident of Shreveport for many years. She was a member of the Deborah Sunday School Class at Broadmoor Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her generosity and hospitality to those who needed meals during special times. Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by her parents, Sallie and Wilbon Wright and brother, W. C. Wright. She is survived by her husband, James Bray; daughter, Carole Bray Stauffer and her husband, Jim of Rowlett, Texas  nd granddaughter, Sarah Margaret Stauffer of Durant,  Oklahoma.

Retha Lauw

Funeral services for Retha Downs Lauw were held on June 8 at Old Pisgah Baptist Church in Belmont with the Rev. Dean Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Bethany Cemetery in Marthaville. Retha Lauw, 88 years of age, passed away June 4, 2015. She was born Nov. 29, 1926 in Marthaville. She was a hardworking, lovable lady, who cherished her family dearly. She enjoyed life, and got the most out of it by trusting in God for all things. She taught her children to serve the Lord, and showed them what it meant to never give up. She was a loving mother and grandmother, she was compassionate, and she loved to cook.  She welcomed everyone in her home for meals, for couldn’t stand the thought of anyone going hungry. She lived a simple life; she derived great enjoyment form fishing and didn’t love anything more than spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed.

Burial followed in St. Catherine Catholic cem-etery in Noble.Mrs. Picard was a native of Converse. She was born on Dec. 6, 1933 to George and Pauline Manshack and entered into rest on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at L.S.U. Medi-cal Center in Shreveport.Mrs. Picard was preceded in death by her parents; hus-band, Johnny Picard; son, Kim Picard; sisters, Ellen Childress, Zula Davis, Oleda Strickland and Eula New-man and brothers, Thomas and Clarence Manshack. She is survived by son, John R. Lambert Daniel Peterson, 75, of Shreveport, passed away on May 25, 2015, in Keithville. A private burial was held on May 26, in Many.Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life to be held at Pendleton Assembly of God Church on Saturday June 13, 2015, at 11 a.m., officiateby his son, Boyd Daniel Peterson. Please stay and visit with the family at a “Lambert style” fishfry afterward.Lambert was born in New Iberia, to William “Bill” Elvin and Gladys Peterson on Dec. 2, 1939. He graduated from Many High School in 1957 and married his high school sweetheart, Gweneth Loraine Stroud. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served eight years of active duty. Upon his return from military service, he continued his Education at North-western State University, where he earned a Master +30 of Education Administration.
