Debbie Nichols

Funeral services for Deborah Elaine Nichols, 58, of Many, were held on October 9, at First United Methodist Church in Many with the Reverends Elaine Burleigh and Steve Spears officiating. Burial followed in the Fort Jessup Cemetery in Many. Debbie passed away peacefully at her residence on October 5, 2015, after a long battle with colon cancer. A lifelong resident of Many, she was born on January 5, 1957 and is preceded in death by her parents, Truman D. Nichols and Elaine K. Nichols, and brother, Harry A. Nichols. A respected businesswoman, Debbie was the owner of Nichols Dry Goods Co. of Many. She knew from an early age that her family’s retail business would be her career of choice. As a child, she spent time in the stores, cleaning and stocking shelves, working the fireworks stand during holidays and adding numbers for her father in the warehouse.

Argerine Miller

Celebration of life and going home services for Argerine Miller, 80, of Zwolle, were held on, October 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Father Dariusz Pawlowski officiated. Mrs. Miller was born on August 6, 1935, in Zwolle to Beto and Josie Malmay Sepulvado and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 1, 2015, in Mansfield. During her lifetime, she was active in St. Helen Circle at St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxillary VFW Post in Zwolle. Preceding her in death were parents; sister-in-law, Helen Sepulvado; brother, Willis Sepulvado and nephew, Clay Post. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Leonard “Billy” Miller of Zwolle; sons, Wendell Castillo and wife, Holly of Mansfield, and Scott Castillo of Zwolle; daughter, Wanda Sue Garcie and husband, Pat, of Zwolle; sister, Patsy Brummerloh and husband, Ronnie, of Zwolle; brothers K.C.

Donna Litton

Funeral services honoring the life of Donna Litton, 64, were held September 26, at the Antioch Baptist Church in Mansfield where the Reverends Bob Latham and Lee Dickson officiated. Graveside services followed at Allen Cemetery in Mansfield. Donna was born March 28, 1951 in Mansfield to Richard and Maxine Evans and passed away September 22, 2015 in Bossier City. Preceding Donna in death are her father, Richard Lee Evans and sister, Linda Evans Henderson. Those left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Thomas Litton, Jr; mother, Maxine Evans; sons, Thomas Litton III and wife, Emily Litton, and Jonathan Litton, Sr.; daughters, Paula Smith and husband Justin, Sr., and Cassie Litton; sisters, Sharon Glover, Cathy Beason, Jennifer Phillips and Irma Miller; grandchildren, Michael Singleton, Gabriel Singleton, Lacey Litton, Jonathan Litton, Jr., Justin Smith, Jr., Thomas Lane Litton, and Expecting Thomas Litton IV (Toby).

Tricia Conner

Patricia Ann “Tricia” McHan Conner, 49, passed away September 28, 2015. Patricia was a native of Carlyss and resided in Toledo Bend. She was a loving mother and loved fishing, cooking and had a love for animals. She is survived by her parents, William “Bill” McHan and Jeanne McHan Pierre of Toledo Bend; son, Chance Edward Trahan of Carlyss; brother, Robert McHan and wife, Rhonda, of Ragley; uncle, Jerry Benoit and wife, Rose of Arkansas; aunt, Pat Perron and husband, Blackie of Lake Charles; cousins, Shayne, Denise, RubyAnn and Jennifer Benoit, Cindy Williams, and Sherry Nutter and niece and nephew, Brittany Jane and Matthew McHan. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Bobbie Jane Hopkins and grandparents, Eddie and Ruby Benoit and W.L. “Doc” and Verona Jane McHan Sr. Her funeral was October 1 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Jody Tyler Barrilleaux was the celebrant. Burial was held in Landry Cemetery in Carlyss.

Kouper Belanger

Kouper Zayne Belanger, age 3, of DeRidder entered eternal peace on Friday, October 2, 2015 in DeRidder with his family by his side. Kouper was preceded in death by one sister, Kaesyn Belanger and maternal grandparents, Mike and Dana Hines and Alvin “Bosco” and Mary Belanger. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his parents, Kevin Scott Corley and Lucia “Sissie” Belanger Corley of DeRidder; sister, Danalyn Belanger of DeRidder and grandparents, Nathan and Betty Rogers of Many, Clarence and Vicki Malmay of Ebarb, and Buddy and Bonnie Freeman of Slagle. Funeral services were held on October 5, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, with Bro. Buddy Freeman officiating. Interment followed at Big Woods Cemetery in Vinton. Joyce Chance

Funeral services for Joyce Hilton Chance, 91, of Plainview were held on October 5 at Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church in Hornbeck under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home with the Reverends Kenneth Leach, Dean Johnson, and Hoy Leach officiating. Interment followed in the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery. Joyce was born April 11, 1924 and entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2015. She was a native of the Plainview Community, Sabine Parish, Hornbeck and resided there most of her life. She was a homemaker, a mom rearing five sons, and a dedicated bi-vocational pastor’s wife serving several churches in Sabine and Vernon Parishes. Throughout her adult life, Joyce considered Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church as her home church. Joyce served the Sabine Parish Clerk of Court’s Office and the people of Sabine Parish as an election commissioner for a period covering 56 years. She served as Commissioner in Charge for many of those years.

Joshua Trey Pilkington was born on Friday, July 28, 1989 in Shreveport. He passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Texas. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Faye Tatum and paternal grandfather, Tom Pilkington. He is survived by parents, Terry and Sue Pilkington of Many; paternal grandmother, Agnes Pilkington Gunter of Mansfield; brothers, Terry Lynn Pilkington, Jr. of Pleasant Hill and Shane Pilkington of Shreveport; nephew, Bryce Pilkington of Pleasant Hill; nieces, Emma Pilkington and Abby Pilkington both of Shreveport; very special friend, Cheyenne Williams along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services for Herman Ray Sepulvado, 84, of Zwolle, were held October 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle with Father Thomas Elavunkal officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Herman Ray Sepulvado was born on Thursday, September 3, 1931 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Christus Schumpert Highland in Shreveport. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Margarete BeeBee Sepulvado, Sr.; one son, Mark Sepulvado and three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Valerie Parrie and husband, Bobby Joe, of Zwolle and Brenda Meshell and husband, Johnny Ray, also of Zwolle; sisters, Doris Sepulvado of Zwolle, Mary Sepulvado of Zwolle and Thelma Fox of Keatchie; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services for Mary Eunice Ebarb, 90, of Many were held Sept. 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle with Father Thomas Elavunkal officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Mary Eunice Ebarb was born on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1925 in Zwolle. She passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Inez Ebarb; only son, Christopher Glynn Ebarb; five brothers; four sisters and granddaughter, Stephanie Ebarb. She is survived by her grandchildren, Terrance Sullivan and wife, Brandy, of San Marcos, Texas, Jordan Ebarb and wife, Chasity, of Stonewall and Janna Wright and husband, Brad, of Negreet; great grandchildren, Josh, Christopher, Addisyn and Cooper; eleven sisters; five brothers along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Kenenth Ebarb, Terry “Butch” Ebarb, Archie Rivers, Patrick Box, Tommy Sepulvado and Brad Wright.

Funeral Services for V. L. Leach, 87, of Florien, were held Sept. 26 at Antioch Baptist Church in Florien with the Reverends Wilton Anthony and John Sparks officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery. V. L. Leach was born on Monday, Sept. 10, 1928 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Natchitoches. He was preceded in death by his parents, Volley and Ruby Royal Leach; wives, Louise Leach and Ruth Leach and grandson, Jeremy Salter. He is survived by his daughter, Vickey Salter and husband, Bobby of Florien; son, Rickey Leach of Florien; two grandchildren, Jenny and Jerad Salter, both of Florien; two great grandchildren, Taylor Drewett of Many and Aidan Heredia of Florien along with a host of friends.Pallbearers were Clay Corley,  Chris Funderburk, Brian Miller, Darryl Anthony, Bean Brown and Jason Holcomb.
