Bobbie Reneau

Bobbie J. Maddox Reneau, 79, of Dayton, Texas passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015, at her residence. Funeral services were held November 12 at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Liberty, Texas. Graveside services were held November 13 at the Zwolle Cemetery in Zwolle. Bobbie was born February 19, 1936 in Zwolle to parents, Jesse W. and Eva P. Sanderson Maddox, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 24 years. She was a graduate of the Zwolle High School class of 1952, a retired secretary, and member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. She also enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, and entertaining. Mrs. Reneau was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Serena Sanderson and brother, Howard Maddox. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Edwin W.

Pasty Hubier

Graveside services honoring the life of Patsy Love Hubier, 71, were held November 13 at Union Springs Cemetery in Converse with Kevin Womack officiating. Patsy was born April 14, 1944 in Nederland, Texas to Will and Lora Worsham Love and passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Shreveport. She is preceded in death by her father, Will Roe Love; mother, Lora Mae Worsham Love and brothers, Jimmy Maurice “Bo” Love and Bobby Gene Love. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her brother, Billy Randall Love and wife, Tina; son, Charles Kevin Hubier and wife, Robin; daughters, Lori Love Hubier Jenkins and husband, Ralph and Kami Dawn Hubier Durham and husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Jon Cody Cooke, Lacy Love Melder, Katelyn Granger Rivers, Michael Britt Hubier, Robert Blake Hubier, Joshua Colt Dayries, Meagan Leigh Johnson, Karley Taylor Dayries and 17 great grandchildren.

Dorothy O’Quinn

Dorothy “Dot” Brumley O’Quinn went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2015. She was 90, a native of Many. She graduated from Many High School in 1942, then completed her education at Draughon Business College in Shreveport. After graduation, she became secretary to the Commanding General at Ft. Polk, then later moved to Alexandria and worked for the state office of the Louisiana Baptist Convention. In 1953, she became the beloved wife of the late Dr. Daniel Thomas O’Quinn and moved to Metairie, where she has resided for the past 62 years. In addition to devoted wife and mother, she found time to work as a Tupperware dealer and manager, followed by working in the local office of Cutter Laboratories, and finally as receptionist and manager of her husband’s medical office. She was a vibrant Christian lady known for her broad smile and love for her precious Savior, a member of First Baptist Church of New Orleans and a former member of Metairie Baptist Church.

Funeral Services for James A. “Buddy” Veuleman, 70, of Negreet, were held on November 9 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Robeline. The Reverends Brian Adamson and Wilton Anthony will be officiated. Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. James A. “Buddy” Veuleman was born on Wednesday, June 13, 1945 in Many. He passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. Buddy served as president of Sabine Parish School Board and was a member and song director of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He was a past board member of VEMCO and DEQ Board of Certification and Training. He was a board member of Solid Waste Association of North America and Cedar Grove Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Artie Veuleman and infant brother, Swepton Veuleman. He is survived by his wife, Roma Veuleman of Negreet; children, Elton R. Savell and wife, Kristi Savell of Negreet, James A. “Bugs” Veuleman, Jr.

Clarence Malmay was born on Sunday, September 15, 1946 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his residence in Noble. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Trudie Sepulvado Malmay; sister, Lou V. Malmay; brothers, Lennis Malmay, Paul Malmay and Simon Malmay; daughter-in-law, Theresa D. Malmay; granddaughter, Alivia Malmay and grandson, Kouper Belanger.

Burial followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Kenny Wayne Hopkins was born on Sunday, February 10, 1935 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lola Hopkins and brother, Kerry “Bo” Hopkins. He is survived by his wife, Deltha Ann Hopkins of Florien; daughter, Debra Dziekan and husband, Jerome; sons, Lewis Hopkins and wife, Kayla, and Kevin Hopkins and wife, Lori, all of Florien; brother, Rodney Hopkins of Many; grandchildren, Jason Dziekan, Tye Hopkins, Cody Hopkins, Cullen Hopkins, Kyle Hopkins, Faith Hopkins and Chase Hopkins all of Florien along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were his grandsons.

Richard Wayne Gaspard

Richard Wayne Gaspard died on September 28, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. His services were held at Carney Funeral Home in Lafayette. Richard requested in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Autistic Association. He was a resident of Alexandria born on July 26, 1952 to D. J. Gaspard Jr. and Margaret Gaspard. Mr. Gaspard was owner and operator of Richard’s Fence Company located in Pineville for 25 years. Before his death, he was employed by General Electric as Technical Advisor to G.E. Oil & Gas International. Richard was an avid duck hunter and member of Ducks Unlimited. He coached boy’s football and baseball for Ward Ten in Tioga for 10 years. He was also an assistant football coach at Holy Savior Menard. He was devoted to youth sports. Richard was a graduate of Holy Savior Menard class of 1970. He attended Louisiana College, and was an Olympic heavyweight lifter. Mr.

Funeral services for Charles R. Spillyards, 80, were held November 3 at Fellowship Baptist Churchin Converse with the Rev. Ronnie Sandifer officiating. The burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse. Charles was born in Converse to Quinton and Lucille Folks Spillyards and passed away in Mansfield. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist church in Converse. Preceding Charles in death was his parents and sister, Gloria Jean Spillyrads. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sister, Hazel Bourque and husband, Thomas; brother, Walter Hugh Spillyards, Sr.; nephews, Danny Spillyards and companion, Sally Norwood, Walter H. Spillyards, Jr. and wife, Kristy, Donny Spillyard and wife, Margaret, James Bourque and Darren Bourque; niece, Stacey Williams and husband, Mike; a host of great nieces and nephews and special niece Rebecca Norwood and companion Sergio Ebarb.

Nelson A. Hoffpauir

Nelson A. Hoffpauir, 66, of Noble, formerly of Hayes, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in a care facility. Nelson was born July 17, 1949 to the late Nelson and Celeste Authement Hoffpauir. He worked for Farmers Rice Mill and Sweet Lake Land & Oil. Nelson loved Cajun cooking, bingo and hunting. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ramona of Noble; children, Travis Hoffpauir and wife, Veronica, of Lake Arthur, Elizabeth Marcantel of Reeves, and Bridget Roberson and husband, Blake, of Noble; siblings, Chris Hoffpauir and wife, Jamie of Hayes, Mitchell Hoffpauir and wife, Dayna, of Hayes, Barbara Pitre and husband, Donald of Jennings and Patricia Ray and husband, Bruce of Zwolle; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His parents, son, Warren Hoffpauir and brother, Thomas Authement preceded him in death. Services were held on October 24 at Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hayes Cemetery.
