Kathleen Snider

Funeral Services for Kathleen Snider, 79, of Many, were held March 6 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Chance officiating. Burial followed in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery.

She was born on Thursday, July 15, 1937 in Sabine Parish. She passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Natchitoches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Lewing and Marie Clark Lewing; husband, Henry Garrett Snider; daughter, Kathy Robertson; and brothers, Ottis Lewing and Wayne Lewing.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Snider and wife, Celesta, of Gordonsville, Tennessee; sister, Evelyn Adams of Many; brothers, Alton Lewing of Many, Dean Lewing of Many, Jim Lewing of Lake Charles and Clarence Lewing of Many; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Gena Beth Ard

Gena Beth Ard, 90, was born on June 12, 1926 in Knox County, Texas to David Griffith and Nevye Thurmond. She is an US Army Veteran, having served during WWII. She was also an active member of the Zwolle VFW and the Sabine Parish Lions Club where she served as president for several years.

She passed away on February 22, 2017 while residing at Many Health Care North in Many.

Preceding her in death were her parents, David G Griffith and Nevye Thurmond and 12 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Joe Ard of Zwolle; daughter, Judy Baca of Spring Branch, Texas; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Edith Boothe

Funeral services honoring the life of Edith Marie Boothe, 90, were held February 25 at Toledo Bend Church of Christ on Hwy. 191, north of Toledo Town in Many. The Rev. James Tidwell officiated and burial followed in the Toledo Bend Church of Christ Cemetery. Edith Marie Shirley Boothe was born on August 26, 1926 in Georgia to Dewitt Shirley and Ada Atteberry. She passed away on February 22, 2017 while residing at Sabine Retirement Center of Many. Preceding her in death were her father, James Franklin Boothe, and brothers, Ray Shirley, J.C. Shirley, Hubert Shirley, and DeWitt Shirley. She is survived by her sons, James Franklin Boothe of Corinth, Texas and Marvin Wilson Boothe of Elgin, Oklahoma; daughter, Glory White, of Many; and sisters, Floree Myers of Semmes, Alabama, Fern Nelson of Semmes, Alabama, Carrol Chastain of Mobile, Alabama and Ravine Williams of Mobile, Alabama. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

The Rev. Titus Pruitt

The Rev. Titus N. Pruitt, born March 31, 1931, passed away on February 20, 2017 at Sabine Medical Center. He was a resident of Toledo Retirement Center. Titus was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War as a chef. He was a pastor in the Pentecostal faith, and spent many years spreading the Word. He worked many years as a contractor for telephone companies, traveling and working around the country, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Isles. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in later years. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell stories of his childhood and friends and travels. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by parents, John L. Pruitt and Quincy Pruitt; six brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Jackye Hopkins Pruitt; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many friends. Graveside services were held February 23 at Warren Cemetery on Pump Station Road. The Rev.

Vickey Salter

Funeral services for Vickey Salter, 64, of Florien will be held Thursday, March 2 at 2 p.m. with the Reverends Wilton Anthony and John Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 2 at 12 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Vickey was born on Saturday, August 9, 1952 in Many. She passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Desoto Regional Medical Center in Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, V. L. Leach and Louise Funderburk Leach and son, Jeremy Salter. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Salter of Florien; daughter, Jenny Salter and fiancé Anthony Petit of Florien; son, Jerad Salter of Florien; brother, Rickey Leach of Florien; granddaughter, Taylor Drewett of Many; grandson, Aidan Heredia of Florien; special niece and nephew, Trish Holcomb Coffey and Jason Holcomb of Florien; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services honoring the life of Audrey Burr Weaver, 90, were held February 23 at Rose- Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield with the Rev. Toby Shaw officiating. Burial followed at Old Union Cemetery in Benson. Audrey was born on August 13, 1926 in Converse to Joe and Evalina Procell and entered into rest on February 19, 2017 in Mansfield. Preceding Audrey in death were her first husband, Charles L. Burr; second husband, Edward “Pete” Weaver; parents, Joe “Crow” and Evalina “Little Granny” Procell; brothers, Bud Procell, and Porter Procell; sisters, Sydney Childress, Ruby Deason, and Bennie Manshack; and grandson, Charlie Solley.

Marla Blackmon

Funeral services for Marla Lynn Dixon Blackmon, of Anacoco were held February 25 at the Anacoco First Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Cryer Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Marla, the daughter of Cullen and JoAnn Strickland Dixon, was born on May 20, 1968, in Many. She passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in Shreveport. Marla was a loving and faithful wife, mother and Nonny. Her passion in life was to support her husband in the ministry as a Pastor’s wife and to love on her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time playing with her grandchildren. She was always willing to help anyone in need without even being asked.

Funeral services for Marilyn Ruth Meshell of Noble were held February 17 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in the Ebarb Community. Father Richard Norsworthy and Father Jean Bosco Uwamungu officiated. Interment followed in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery. Marilyn was born on September 7, 1949 in Many. She went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2017 while in crucial care in Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Williams and Sylvia Procell of Ebarb; sister, Loretta Ebarb; brother, Harold Procell Sr.; granddaughter, Alyvia Collins; and father-in-law, Walter Meshell Sr., all of Ebarb.

Gerald Arthur “Buddy” Beasley

Funeral arrangements for Gerald Beasley, 85, were held February 21 at 10 a.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Reverends Matthew Beasley and Mike Henderson officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation began February 20, at 5 p.m. at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many.

He was the oldest child of Gerald B. and Claude Armour Beasley, born May 26, 1931. He passed away February 18, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Lou Beasley Peace; brother, Kenneth Zane Beasley; wife, Lanell Carter Beasley; son, Richard Alan Beasley and daughter, Kimberly Lanell Beasley Bedrich.

Ronnie Jordan

Ronnie G. Jordan, 65, of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania passed away at his home on February 15, 2017 at 5:30 a.m. A viewing service will be held at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, on February 22 at 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Burial will follow at the Rocky Mount Cemetery on February 23 at 10 a.m.

Ronnie was born on March 21, 1951 in Robeline to O.K. Jordan and Eva Car-roll Jordan. He graduated from Robeline High School in 1969 and attended Northwestern College in Natchitoches. He worked for McBurney Corporation out of Norcross, Georgia as a project manager until his early retirement in 2010 when he was first diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Faye Jordan.
