Funeral services for Rickie Westfall, 61, of Many were held March 24 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Rickey Robertson and Buster Jordan officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. He was born on Sunday, September 9, 1956 in Sabine Parish and passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, James William Westfall, Jr. and Charleen Brown Westfall; brother, Donald Ray Westfall; sister, Gloria Sue Westfall; paternal grandparents, James William Westfall Sr. and Carrie Lee Thorton Westfall; maternal grandparents, Homer Brown and Jewel Thaxton Brown; and a special friend, Jack Creighton.

Funeral services for Donald Bernard Leone, 77, of Zwolle, were March 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mike Thang’wa officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery. He was born on Monday, October 28, 1940 in Converse, and passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. Leone and Dorothy V. Longoria Leone; and his nephew, Eric Morse. He is survived by his sister, Billie Morse and husband, Earl of Colleyville, Texas; niece, Suzy Morris and husband, Geoff, of Carrollton, Texas; great nephews, Jake Morse of Carrollton, Texas and Justin Morse of Carrollton, Texas; along with a host of friends. Jonathan Hopkins

Jonathan Hopkins, 62, of Baton Rouge passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018. He was born July 8, 1955 in Zwolle, where he grew up and lived until his high school graduation in 1973. When he reached driving age, you could see him most Saturdays delivering groceries all over town. He then worked his way through college at LSU in Baton Rouge earning a Civil Engineering degree in 1985, and earned the designation of Registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana and Mississippi. He worked in the petrochemical industry for 25 years serving as Lead Civil/Structural Engineer on numerous projects throughout the region. His love of drawing and art was illustrated in the meticulous attention to detail in his drawings. He always wanted his projects to be completed with the utmost integrity and professionalism. Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Spencer Hopkins, Sr., and Selma Lefkovits Hopkins.

Raymond Anthony Remedes

Raymond Anthony Remedes, 76, entered peacefully into the loving hands of our Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 17 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zwolle with Father Richard Norsworthy and Father Mike Thang’wa officiating. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors. The life of Raymond Anthony Remedes began on June 9, 1941. He was the youngest of twelve children born to Joe and Elidia Remedes of Zwolle. He grew up in Zwolle attending St. Joseph’s Catholic School for six years and Zwolle High School for six years, where he graduated in 1959. He started working in the woods at the age of 13 cutting pulpwood and making ties for his father. He continued with various jobs in the woods until his graduation where he then was drafted into the Army. Upon his discharge from the army he then went to work for Sabine Lumber Company.

Allie Nadine Haley Isgitt

Funeral services for Allie Nadine Haley Isgitt, 86, of Belmont were held March 14 at Union Baptist Church with the Reverends John Lewing II and Glen Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Belmont Cemetery. She was born on Tuesday, July 21, 1931 in Sabine Parish, and passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her residence in Belmont. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Belmont. She spent her entire life caring for others and taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved cooking big homemade meals for anybody who would eat. She also enjoyed working in her yard, feeding her hummingbirds, quilting and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Columbus Isgitt, Jr.; parents, Elmer O. Haley and Nellie Wyatt Haley; brother, Elmer Raimond Haley; sister, Naomi Haley Burk; and great grandson, Gattlin Isgitt.

Funeral Services for Catherine Delores O’Banion, 76, of Zwolle, were held March 14 at at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Matt Warren and James Ericson officiating. Burial followed in the Zwolle Cemetery. She was born on Friday, July 25, 1941 in Sabine Parish, and passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Willis Knighton Pierremont in Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents, A. L. and Gertie Moore Neal; sister, Betty Self; and niece, Sharon Majors. She is survived by her husband, Randel O’Banion of Zwolle; daughter, Rosalind Garcie and husband, Sammie, of Zwolle; son, Randy O’Banion and wife, Karen, of Florien; grandchildren, Brandy O’Banion Lopez of Zwolle, Meagan O’Banion Ammons of Many, and Jordan O’Banion of Marthaville; seven great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Rustin Rivers, Caleb Rivers, Lex Rivers, Pat Sepulvado, Eric Laroux, Calvin Campbell and Kenny Torries.

Burial followed in the Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine. She was born Thursday, November 3, 1938 in Dry Prong, and passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry H. and Willie Culpepper Smith; son, Dennis Martinez; great grandsons, Zachary Martinez and Evan Chance; and five brothers. She is survived by her husband, Melvin T.

Memorial services celebrating the life of Bradley Paul Webb were held March 10 at Rose- Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Many with Brother Roger Bynog Jr. officiating. He was born on March 18, 1986 to Glenn and Sandy Streb Webb. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 7, 2018 at the age of 31. Brad was blessed with four children, Damian, Jackson, Anna Grace and Sianna. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joyce Reed Webb; maternal grandfather, Jean Paul Whinery; and maternal grandmother, Mary Braun Streb Whinery. He is survived by his parents, Glenn and Sandy Webb; wife, Rebecca; sister, Cheryl Powell and husband, Terry Powell Sr., of Derry; brother, Doug Webb and wife, Amber, of Many; paternal grandfather, Douglas L. Webb of Many; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

William Harold Mothershed

William Harold Mothershed, 82, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his residence in Kingwood, Texas. He was born January 4, 1936 in Florien to William Ora and Iberia Skinner Mothershed. He served his country in the United States Air Force after graduating from Florien High School. He later attended Louisiana State University, Mississippi Southern University, and graduated from University of Louisville. He retired from Chevron USA in 1992 after serving in various positions in Mississippi, Kentucky, California, and Angola, West Africa. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Brown Mothershed; daughter, Kim Mothershed Philley and husband, Carey, of Kingwood, Texas; son, Hal Scott Mothershed and wife, Jill, of Nashville, Tennesse; grandchildren, Erin Philley Diez and husband, Cole, Blake Philley Wesley and husband,Bryan, Alwyn Elizabeth Mothershed, Leah Ruth Mothershed, and William Neil Mothershed; and sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Lynn Hawkins of Ruston.
