William Lee Hagelin

Funeral services for William Lee Hagelin, 27, of Zwolle were held August 3 at First Baptist Church of Zwolle with Bro. Wade Penfield officiating. Burial followed in the Lakeview Cemetery. He was born on Friday, May 31, 1991 in Lafayette, and passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Lady Of The Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. He is survived by his wife, Alexis Hubbard Hagelin of Zwolle; son, Carston Hagelin of Zwolle; daughter, Sage Hagelin of Zwolle: father, Thomas Hagelin of Zwolle; mother, Janet Vice Miller and husband, Billy, of Zwolle; brothers, Eric Hagelin and wife, Martha, of Belmont, and Jared Hagelin and wife, Heather, of Bossier City; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers were Chris Martinez, Adian Martinez, Clark Sepulvado, Magnum Sepulvado, Edward Jackson, Corey Weathy, Bryce Smith, and Martin Tweedy. Honorary pallbearers were James Sepulvado, Jame Weathy and the Crew Members of Rig 155.

Coach Malvin Ogden

Funeral services for Coach Malvin Ogden, 80, of Many, were held July 28 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Cyle Clayton officiating. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery. He was born on Monday, August 30, 1937 in Oak Grove, and passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Malvin Ogden, Sr. and Fern Victoria Stevens Ogden; daughter, Pam Wood; sister, Earline Coody; and grandson, Brandon Glover. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Nichols Ogden of Many; children, Rhonda Glover of Many, Angie Bellah of Nashville, Tennessee, Lisa Clark of Wisconsin, Jeff Malley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jason Malley of Benton, Jeremy Malley of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Joey Matson of Bastrop; sisters, Margie Newman of Winnsboro, Margaret Hall of Ruston and Kay Allen of Bastrop; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; with numerous other family members, former students and friends.

He was born on Thursday, September 20, 1973 in Farmington, New Mexico, and passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans. She was born Wednesday, March 23, 1955, and passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Mitchell; daughter, Kassie Mitchell; sister, Brenda Valdez; and mother, Marie Barnhill. She is survived by her daughters, Kim Russell and husband, Jeremy, of Many and Kellie Mitchell of Many; parents, Delmer and Rita Mitchell of Many; sisters, Dickie Leach of Many and Debra Kay of Marthaville; brothers, Dewayne Mitchell of Converse, Keith Mitchell of Noble and Brett Mitchell of Many; grandchildren, Harley Fredieu of Many, McKay Small of Many and Drake Russell of Many; great grandson, Maverick Fredieu of Many; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She passed away on July 21, 2018 in Many. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Alford; and brothers, Sammy and Luke “Skipper” McCormic. Thomas DeVayne Hollis Jr.

Thomas DeVayne Hollis Jr., 80, passed away July 6, 2018 at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home from complications caused by Agent Orange. Tom was born June 24, 1938, in Many to Lillian Cooper and Thomas DeVanye Hollis Sr. He was the oldest of four children: his sister, Dorothy and brothers, Bobby and Larry. He grew up in Many, and later moved to Hornbeck, where he enjoyed swimming and fishing in lakes. He excelled in sports, especially basketball and baseball. Tom served two Tours of Duty in Vietnam. He started his military career in the Navy, then the Marines and retired with 21 years of service in the Army. He served in the Army as a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne and as a Medic. He was known for his bravery, honesty, hard work, and dedication as a soldier, earning numerous awards and medals including the Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from Civil Service from Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Lee Garcia; parents, Melecio and Maria Rodriguez Garcia; and grandson, Kyle Taylor Hall.

Funeral services for Dave Glen Weaver were July 5 at Hornbeck Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Buddy Freeman officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. He was born on June 30, 1966, in Corvallis, Oregon and passed away on July 2, 2018, in Hornbeck at the age of 52. He grew up in Hornbeck, attended Hornbeck High School, and was a member of Hornbeck Full Gospel Church. For many years, Dave worked as a heavy equipment operator for J.D. Lites Company. He was a jack of all trades who loved to hunt and fish. Spending time with his family was the thing that Dave loved the most. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Jr. and Francis Weaver; grandparents, George Sr. and Frieda Weaver, and Glen and Sylvia Gibson; brother, Ferlin Knippers; sister, Cheryl Sigler; nephew, Davin Russ and niece, Shantell Knippers.
