LaNell Rogers

Funeral services honoring the life of Verna LaNell Rogers, 85, were held December 18 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield with the Rev. Jimmy Price officiating. Burial followed at Converse Cemetery in Converse.

LaNell was born December 3, 1933 in Noble to Jack H. “Daddy Jack” and Katherine Allen “Mama Koot” Anderson, and entered into rest on December 15, 2018 in Mansfield.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Buster Rogers; daughter, Vonda Rogers Miller; sister, Barbara Parker; and brothers, Jack “Top” Anderson and Orland Ray Anderson.

Ronald Edward Seals

Funeral services for Ronald Edward Seals were held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Many. Officiating was Bro. Jerry Penfield. Interment followed at Zwolle City Cemetery.

Ron was born November 6, 1945 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Jessie Seals and Ilene Royal and passed away on December 9, at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport. Ron was self-employed as a master plumber/electrician where he met and helped a lot of customers with any type of problem they may have encountered. Ron was a dependable, hard-working man who not only took care of his family, but he also treated and took care of his numerous customers. He was a hard-worker and took pride in his work because he wanted to satisfy each person or business that relied on his expertise in his line of work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Ilene Seals; brother-in-law, Pat Ebarb, Sr.; and nephew, Mark Ebarb.

June Procell Harley

Funeral services for June Procell Harley, 94, of Many were held on December 15, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Fisher Cemetery.

She was born on Thursday, January 17, 1924 in Sabine Parish and passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Harley; parents, James J. Procell and Louvenia Verda Valentine Procell; and siblings, Floyd Procell, Hubert Procell, Elmo Procell, Steve Procell, Joseph J. Procell, Louis Procell, Henry Procell, Louise Strange, Ida Mae Reese, Verna Moore and Verda Anderson.

She is survived by her sisters; Jane Borden of Noble, Creola P. Sepulvado of Noble, Lee Procell of Boyce, and Paula Thompson of Idaho City, Idaho; brothers, Clayton Procell of Zwolle, Paul Procell and wife, Linda, of Many, and Robert Procell of Noble; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Harold Dillard

On December 9, God called home one of his own, Harold Gene Dillard. Born October 5, 1937, he passed away at DeSoto Regional Medical Center with family at his side. He was a faithful Christian and a remarkable son, father, grandfather and friend, and known for always having a smile on his face and kind words.

Harold was a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill since 1980. He was a welder by trade but spent the last half of his life working for the Sabine Parish Sheriffs Office. He retired after 29 years of dedication to his community and parish including The Sabine Council on Aging.

He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Alan Dillard; mother, Wade Rains Dillard; father, Hoyt Clifton Dillard; nieces, Kay Weldon Marsh and Kim Weldon Frost; and nephew, Sonny Dillard.

John Young

Funeral services for John Lawrence “Hickory Nut” Young were held at Jeane’s Funeral Service December 10. Burial followed in the Cooper Cemetery.

He was born and raised on an 80 acre farm, “the home-place” in Toro Bayou in Sabine Parish to Willis N. Young III and Mamie Longoria Young on September 8, 1931. He passed in his sleep at home in Hornbeck on December 7, 2018.

Edward “Eddie” Malmay, Jr.

Memorial service for Edward “Eddie” Malmay, 76, of Zwolle will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, Many. The Rev. Jerry Penfield will be officiating.

Eddie Malmay was born on February 15, 1942. Eddie passed away on December 16, 2018 at Toledo Retirement.

Eddie was a well-known logger and was a master logger. He spent his life in logging.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Malmay; parents, Ed Malmay, Sr. and Ethel Skinner and stepdad, Louis Skinner; son, Eddie Dean Malmay; brother, “T.J.” Thomas Malmay; sisters, Elouise Malmay and Laverne Matthews.

Jerry Stallings

Jerry Lynn Stallings, 72, passed away in Little Rock surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. He was born on July 29, 1946, in Henderson, Texas to Ouida Parker Stallings and Turner Wall Stallings.

Left to honor and remember his love are his beloved wife of 43 years, Carrol Giacone Stallings; daughter, Erin Cossé and husband, Kurt; son, Jerret; grandchildren, Joshua, Cole, Carley, and Cade; brother, Kevin Brent and wife, Christine; and in memory his brother, Neal and wife, Peta.

Jerry was a good, humble man who was an avid fisherman and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish on the lake he loved, Toledo Bend.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks donations be sent to Toledo Bend Lake Association in memoriam of Jerry to help pass on his love of fishing and foster the teaching of others to fish. Please send donations to TBLA PO Box 1031, Many, LA 71449.

Jimmie Walker

Jimmie Ray Walker born, May 16, 1940, to J.B. and Eva Lea Walker, passed from life on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in his home surrounded by his wife and children, at the age of 78 years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sally Brewer Walker of Many; daughter, Debbie Walker Augustine of Humble, Texas; son, Greg Walker and wife, Dian, of Stilwell, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Walker; mother, Eva Lea Savell Walker; and brother, Ivy Allen Walker.

Jimmie was a retired Chiropractor of Stilwell, Oklahoma.

Graveside services in memory of Jimmie were held at the Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder on December 10 under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.

Lloyd Saunders

Lloyd Charles Saunders was born October 30, 1950 in Shreveport to Beatrice Meshell of Zwolle and O.J. Saunders of Leesville and he entered into rest on December 6, 2018.

Mr. Saunders was a merchant marine who took great pride in his job. He loved music and this passion for music was a key motivator to help him learn how to play the drums. He taught himself how to be a drummer by practicing on oatmeal boxes. Once he mastered the song “Wipe Out,” he was extremely proud of himself. Lloyd enjoyed life and was loved by many family and friends.

Preceding Lloyd in death were his parents; his son, Jason Saunders; brother, Bo Linkous; and grandmother, Ms. Mary Meshell who raised him as if he were her own child.

Milton Lewing

Milton Bluford Lewing, a resident of Many, passed away on December 5, 2018 age the age of 77 in Many. He was born on July 18, 1941 to Hoyt G. Lewing and Vera V. Master Lewing. He was a loving father and grandfather. He served honorably in the United States Air Force.

Milton is survived by his son, Keith Lewing and wife, Cindy, of Zwolle; daughter, Suzanne Lewing of LaPorte, Texas; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Emmalee, and Raeghan Lewing along with Xavier Reyna; and sister, Gail King of Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Burleson; and brother, Ruel Lewing.

The family received friends for visitation at Rose-Neath Many Chapel on December 7 with a chapel service officiated by the Rev. Donnie Paul Lewing.
