Roderick Davis Sr., Roderick Davis Jr., Athena Mitchell arrested for alleged Medicaid fraud, other charges

Roderick Davis Sr., Roderick Davis Jr., and Athena Mitchell have been arrested on multiple charges associated with alleged Medicaid fraud committed while they were employed by the ARC of Sabine (SARC).

Arrest warrants obtained by The Sabine Index state that Roderick Davis Sr. was charged with one count of felony Medicaid fraud and one count of felony exploitation of the infirmed.  Roderick Davis Jr. has been charged with three counts of felony Medicaid Fraud and one count of felony criminal conspiracy.  Athena Mitchell is charged with two counts of felony Medicaid fraud and one count of criminal conspiracy.

The inspirational “I Can Only Imagine” to play in Many on Saturday

Movies in Many fans will have the chance Saturday night, Sept.28,to view an inspirational Christian drama film at the Many Community Center.  It starts at 7 p.m. and it doesn't cost anything.

I Can Only Imagine is a 2018 American Christian drama film  based on the story behind the group Mercy Me's song of the same name, the best-selling Christian single of all time. The film stars J. Michael Finley as Bart Ballard, the lead singer who wrote the song about his father who is played by Dennis Quaid.

 I Can Only Imagine was released in the United States on March 16, 2018. It was a massive box office success, grossing $85 million worldwide against a production budget of $7 million, earning more than twelve times its budget.

A true story, the plot goes like this:

Gordon sworn in; Negreet school recognized

“Music in Many” receives grant

Many Mayor Ken Freeman announced that the Town of Many’s ‘Music in Many’ program has received a generous grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council for the 2019-2020 season.

The grant is for $2,854.00 and to the Cultural District of Many.

Mary Brocato, chairperson of the Many Cultural District Advisory Committee, was excited to get the good news.

Constitution Week proclaimed in Sabine Parish

Mayor Ken Freeman signed a proclamation recently naming the week of September 17-23 as Constitution Week in Sabine Parish. The Daughters of the American Revolution spearhead the observance every year and asks local citizens to reaffirm the ideals the framers of the Constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties.
