NSU offering rape defense class

A Rape Aggression Defense Basic Physical Defense Class (R.A.D.) will be offered through Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic and Continu-ing Education beginning Tues-day, July 28. The course will be on July 28, August 4 and 11 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Well-ness Recreation and Activity Center on the NSU campus. The fee for the class is $25.

Local Ham Radio enthusiasts participate in 2015 Field Day

Last year on the 2014 Amateur Radio Field Day, local enthusiasts made contact with other operators in Japan, England and Australia. This year, Field Day was hosted on Saturday, June 27 with local members of the Sabine Parish Amateur Radio Club making contact all over the states.

“Hometown Nazareth” is VBS theme at Many 1st United Methodist Church

ChurchVicki Weaver, director of the 2015 Bible School at First United Methodist Church of Many thought “outside the box” this year and brought a unique program and decora-tions to the Family Life Center as Vacation Bible School began Sunday night, June 14. “Hometown Nazareth” was the them and huge canopied tents lined both sides of the “street”, which served as the setting for VBS.
