Richelle Dorris’s creates 2019 Tamale Fiesta poster unveiled

Richelle Dorris’s creates 2019 Tamale Fiesta poster unveiled

Recently, the design for the official 2019 Tamale Fiesta poster was unveiled to much fanfare at the fiesta building.

Sketching out her career in art, Richelle combines her love of fantasy and nature, inspired by growing up in her hometown of Hornbeck. She began drawing at an early age—first copying her sister’s stick figure doodles—and she continues to practice and develop her craft every day. Her form of art is best described as imaginative, creating pictures that burst onto the page with intricate details and bold colors. She uses watercolor and gouache to express her ideas through unique layered compositions. Her first artistic hero was Aubrey Beardsley, leading her to fall in love with the Art Nouveau movement. She continues to build her own quirky style while finding new artistic influences and techniques.
