Scott Gowen, left, of the Central Sabine Fire Department was rewarded a grant by Weyerhaeuser. Grants like these go a long way in assisting local volunteer fire departments, who face an uphill battle when it comes to local fire safety.

As a good community partner, Weyerhaeuser issues a number of grants each year to local schools and community-oriented organizations and this year chose a number of deserving entities to help. A new mission at Many’s First United Methodist Church began Sunday, Nov. 10 following services. The Rev.
