A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Jack Lynn Hubley on May 7 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Many, with the Rev. Chad Partain officiating the service. Interment followed in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Jack, 89 of Alexandria, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, in his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Many and graduated from Many High School where he met Patsy Peterson Hubley. They were married in Alexandria and remained married for 66 years when Patsy passed away in 2016. Jack was a dedicated employee at The Alexandria Daily Town Talk for 45 years and retired as the superintendent of the composing room. He was instrumental in bringing The Town Talk from a hand set newspaper into the computer age. He enjoyed fishing and hunting on family land. He will be remembered most for his love for Christ, family and friends. He never met a stranger and was a devoted Catholic who lived by example always expressing great love and kindness. He instilled in his family a great respect for their heritage and the family land. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Winnie Davis Hubley; wife, Patsy Peterson Hubley; daughter, Jacqueline Ann Hubley Blanda; grandsons, Joseph Blanda and Brett McKenzie; sisters Freda Hubley Guidry, Hazel Hubley Yarbrough, Helen Hubley Dowden, and Winfred Hubley Duke; and brothers CJ Hubley, Charles Hubley, Cleveland Hubley, and Walter Earl Hubley. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Sherry Hubley Gatewood of Houston, Texas, Kathy Hubley McCray of Little Rock, Arkansas, and William David Hubley and his wife, Karen, of Alexandria; granddaughter, Angela Davis Cring, who was raised by her grandparents from the age of 10 after the death of her mother, Jacqueline; other grandchildren include Melynda Grimes, Michele Smith, Wes McCray, Brad McCray, and Jackson Hubley; 10 great grandchildren, one great -great grandchild; sisters, Anna Francis Hubley Grembowiec, Jo Hubley Miller, and Lynna Hubley; and brother, Gene Hubley. Pallbearers honored to serve were Wes McCray, Brad McCray, Scott Smith, Chris Cring, Lamar Peterson, Norman Peterson, Jim Hubley and Allen Gremboweic. Honorary pallbearers were Carl Miller, Rusty Werline, Todd Diviney, Marc Hackstedt, and Robert Gatewood.
