Irma Christine Turner, 91, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on September 26, 2026. Born March 29, 1935, Irma will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude for a life defined by steadfast devotion to family and the quiet strength of daily love.
For 64 years, Chris shared marriage with her beloved husband, Robert M Turner, Sr., who preceded her in death. As a military spouse, she devoted herself to raising four children, meeting the demands of that life with steady resolve and a constant, caring presence.
Chris found comfort and enjoyment in the simple pleasures that made a house feel like home. She loved to read and could often be found working a crossword puzzle, needle and thread close at hand. Sewing, quilting, and cross stitch were more than hobbies—they were patient, thoughtful expressions of care. She also enjoyed watching game shows, loved going to the gambling boats, and faithfully followed the Dallas Cowboys.
Chris is survived by her children, Robert M Turner, Jr. (Leslie), Douglas Turner, Arlene Fuller (John), and Barbara Pfister (John); grandchildren, Shannon Williams, Jeffrey Fuller (Jill), Karen Fuller, Patricia Whitten (Colt), and Sean Turner; great-grandchildren, Aslynn Williams, Raemi Williams, Cameron Fuller, Anna Fuller, Skyler Whitten, Lydia Whitten, Hannah Turner, Isabella Turner, and James Turner; and her sister, Marie Meshell (Paul). Also surviving are numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert M Turner, Sr.; her father, Calvin C Bass; her mother, Vinnie Armstrong Bass; her brothers, Hoyt Bass, Floyd Bass, Lloyd Bass, and Troy Bass; and her sister, Minnie Mae (Helen) Wilson.
