With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Lance Patrick Leone on October 8, 2026 at the age of 35. Though his time on earth has come to an end, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Lance was born on October 5, 1991 to his parents, Kevin and Dawn Leone in Bossier City, Louisiana. From a young age, Lance embraced life, learning true happiness while sitting on the knees of beloved family members who would guide his way. Even though he was the baby brother, Lance loved and protected his two older sisters, Lynsi and Lesli. Lance attended Many Elementary and Many Junior High. He graduated from Many High School in 2010, where he was affectionately given the nickname “Moose”.

After graduation, Lance served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Roseville, California, an opportunity that molded him into the man he was. It was during these two years that Lance was truly honored to witness the miracles of God’s love. He spoke often of the beautiful sunsets, the views at the peaks of Mount Shasta, and the kindness of the people. A part of his heart will always be in California.

Upon returning from his mission, Lance lived in Salt Lake City, Utah to attend LDS Business College for a short time before deciding to move home to attend Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. This decision would lead him to his wife, Emily. They fell in love under the stars on the banks of Cane River, and in December 2015, the two were married for time and all eternity in the Baton Rouge Temple of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. Born into this eternal union were two children, Necley Maxine and Jimmerson Patrick.

Lance enjoyed several careers during his time, including serving families in funeral services at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, where he served with great care and compassion. At the time of his passing, he was working in accounting for DSW Construction in Natchitoches, Louisiana. No matter the job, Lance always took pride in the work he did and the great friendships he made along the way. He also enjoyed serving his community as a member of Kiwanis of Sabine.

Lance’s favorite part of life was his role as father. He loved to travel with his little family to new places, but he also just enjoyed the simple things like daycare drop-off mornings, storytime and cuddles before bed, coaching ball teams, and actively participating in teaching his children. Being an uncle brought him so much joy, and he loved to celebrate the accomplishments of his nieces and nephews. He loved everything about Louisiana culture, from learning about his family heritage and the LSU Tigers to finding whatever he could throw in his Magnalite pots to feed a crowd. He always loved a good joke, even if it was on him.

Lance loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a high priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he regularly shared his testimony by word but also through music by playing hymns on the organ for services and playing the piano for children’s classes on Sundays. He served freely over the years by mentoring young men, assisting with church finances and recordkeeping, and helping others to know more about Heavenly Father’s Plan of Happiness as an ordinance worker in the Baton Rouge Temple.

Above all, he was loved and will be terribly missed. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ross Vincent; his paternal grandfather, Lee Raymond Isgitt; maternal uncle, Chad Vincent; and his paternal aunt, Tanya Leone. He is survived by his wife, Emily Boswell Leone; daughter, Necley Leone; and son, Jimmerson Leone.
