Converse, LA – Funeral services honoring the life of Roy M. Patrick, 90, were 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Converse with the Rev. Ronnie Sandifer and Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Roy was born August 23, 1923, in Sabine Parish to William Luke and Sarah Jackson Patrick and passed away in Shreveport, LA on March 21, 2014. Roy was known as “Cass” to all of his baseball friends. Roy proudly served his country in U.S. Army during WW II. He was crew leader in the oilfield. Preceding Roy in death were his son Roy E. Patrick; parents; one sister; and five brothers. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 71 years Cathryn “Cat” Patrick; sons Bobby C. Patrick and wife Cheryl, Ralph G. Patrick, and wife Mary Sue, Edwin Paul Patrick and wife Deborah, and Alan Keith Patrick and wife Sandra; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
