KEITHVILLE - Funeral services for Johnny Terrell, 65, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 27, 2014. at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. The Rev. Rich Varner and the Rev. Robert Rowland officiated. Interment followed in Keithville Cemetery. Visitation was from 5- 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at the funeral home. Johnny passed away in Dallas, Texas, on Feb. 24,
2014. He was diagnosed with leukemia in May 2011. He fought a long hard battle and died from complications due
to pneumonia. He was born in Pleasant Hill on Aug. 26, 1948. He graduated from high school in 1966 and earned his .A. degree in Business and Economics from Northwestern State University. In March of 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Lee, and together they raised two sons, whom he was very proud of. Johnny was comptroller at AMI, Inc. for many years and together with Kathy they owned and operated two community homes for the mentally challenged in Mansfield. He invested in real estate and timberland, and also co-owned the General Store in Keithville. Together with his sons, he owned and operated Terrell Cattle Co. He was an avid cattleman, grandfather and had his own unique way of expressing himself. His happiest days were those spent with Kathy, their sons, and grandchildren at the family farm in Keatchie. He was a faithful member of Keithville United Methodist Church. He was always ready to help anyone no matter the circumstances. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wister and L.V. Terrell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otis and Maureen Lee; sisters-in-law, JoJo Lee Greig and Nancy Lee Patrick. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Terrell; sons, John Wister Terrell and wife, Jennifer, and Lee Bradford Terrell and wife, Kristy; his beloved grandchildren, Jackson Layton, Lauren Drew and Thomas Dane; his brothers, Dale Terrell and Freddie Terrell and wife, Shelia; six nephews; his special niece, Amy Ivy; Kyle Bowlin, whom he helped raise and considered his own and many other family members. Pallbearers were Billy Lynch, Leon Shaw, Gary Elliott, Kyle Bowlin, Kevin Ivy and Beau Barnes. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Saddler, Ron Springer, Raegen Fair, Scott Bowlin, T.E. Bonner, Dale Walton, Mark Smith, Owen McDonald, James Easley, Fred Scott and Clay Bowlin. Memorials may be made to Keithville United Methodist Church, Caddo Parish 4-H Foundation, 2408 E. 70th, Shreveport, La. 71105 or the American Cancer Society.
