12/24/1939 - 2/27/2014 George Michael Whitehead was born to George Boyd Whitehead and Bonnie Cain Whitehead in  Memphis, Tenn. He spent his youth in Prairie, graduated from West Point High School and spent much of his life traveling the world and the country in the oil and wastewater industries, founding several successful business ventures, and enjoying with great humor all that life had to offer. He retired to Aberdeen to fish, garden and tell tall tales at the Aberdeen VFW Post 4490. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Rosa Rea Whitehead. He is survived by daughters Sarah Beth Lakey of Shreveport, Laura Lou Thomas of Natchitoches, and Ramona Ann Kelly  (Randy) of Van Buren, Ark.; siblings James Whitehead and wife, Neva, John Whitehead and wife, Kay, and Ruth Fowler and husband, Don, all of Aberdeen, Miss.; five grandchildren, John Thomas, Jr, Charles Thomas, Rebekkah Thomas, Brandi Eveld, and Randy Kelly; three great-grandchildren; his faithful companion, Daisy, and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Miss. at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
