Funeral services for Nell Louise Britner, 90, of Many, LA, will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church with Father Tim Hurd officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many LA.

Nell Louise Britner was born on Thursday, June 28, 1934 in Shreveport, LA. She passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many, LA.

“The Life of Nell” Nell’s childhood was a special one, growing up with 4 wonderful sisters! She graduated from Byrd High and went on to be a Legal Secretary. Then quickly came her marriage of over 70 years to “Bob” and they had 8 Beautiful children. She had a brilliant mind was loving and had a caring Heart. She & Bob together owned and operated 3 marinas. She was Host of “Traveling Friends” member of rotaries, auxiliaries & recently inducted to the “Sabine Hall of Fame” also many accomplishments along her life’s path. She took pride in her last 20 years as a Private Secretary to Mr. Pete Abbington, they were like 2 peas in a pod! Nell was a mother, wife & she was a professional with her work ethics, Truly an Amazing Lady! She has gone now to be with the “Lord our Savior”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. O. Ponselle and Irene (Douciere) Ponselle; her husband, Robert “Bob” Britner; son, Gregory Oran Britner and three sisters: Freddie Spohrer, Peggy Spohrer and Mary Allen.

She is survived by her sons: Steve Britner and wife Amanda of Many, LA, David Britner and wife Karen of Zwolle, LA and Bobby Britner and wife Tonya of Many, LA; daughters: Julie Britner of Many, LA, Amy Britner Nixon and husband Larry of Quitman, AR, Lois Britner of Many, LA and Amanda Britner of Many, LA: sister, Jean Rains of Many, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Benjamin Torian, Britt Cotton, Dylan Britner, Clauriste Byles, Kent Rains and Trent Chaney.
