Luke was born on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana to his parents, Joshua Berry and Olivia Strahan Berry. He left his earthly home and went into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday June 11th. His family knows that he is alive in Heaven and they cling to the promise they will one day be reunited.

Luke, or Lukey, as he is affectionately known by his loving family, is a cuddly, loving little boy with a heart for “touching his skin” with his mama and being in the presence of his daddy. Luke: a perfect mix of having a gentle touch with those he loved, but being unafraid to channel his inner Hulk during a smackdown with his daddy. Always kind and considerate of others, his compassion, particularly for his Mama, is a strong nod to his loving nature. Often he would offer kisses, hugs, and a contagious smile to make everything better. Like most boys, he saved the “thunder claps” and toughness for the time he spent with his favorite person, his daddy.

From wrestling and playing dodgeball on the trampoline to hunting and riding dirt bikes, any time spent with his daddy was the highlight of his day. Everything from his hobbies to the choice between LSU or Yankee clothing was a nod to the admiration he carried for his daddy. Playing golf, building forts, and shooting the BB gun were some of their favorite activities. Baseball was his latest venture and he grew so much in his rookie season. He was a natural and he made his daddy so proud.

Above all, Luke was a devoted brother to his siblings: Liam, Leah, and Lily. He loved being taught all the best tips and tricks about golf from his big brother. Often they would go out together and hit golf balls or sit and build legos. His sisters often included him in playing with their barbies and baby dolls and while it was not quite the same as building trains or playing in the mud, it was obvious the enjoyment he found by simply being in their company.

Luke’s earthly presence will forever be missed, but there is hope in knowing he will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends and the heavenly presence of Jesus. May Luke’s brave and loving spirit continue to be a beacon of God’s light for all those blessed to know him.
