Funeral services for Joseph Otis Malmay, 91, of Zwolle, LA, will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Benny Crittenden officiating. Burial will follow in the Zwolle City Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Zwolle, LA.
Joseph Otis Malmay was born on Wednesday, October 25, 1933 in Zwolle, LA. He passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many, LA.
Joseph worked in the oilfield all of his life. He was a hard worker and loved his family. He was a deacon at Memorial Baptist Church. He also loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed being outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Malmay and Martha (Sepulvado) Malmay; sister, Charlotte May and his brothers, Maurice Malmay and William Malmay.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Malmay of Zwolle, LA; son, John Lloyd Malmay of Zwolle, LA; sisters, Mildred Craig of Zwolle, LA and Lonnie Vera Rowe of Zwolle, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Lex Rivers, Phillip “Coon” Remedies, Matthew Sepulvado, Larry Dale Malmay, Freddie Leo Sepulvado and John Henson. Honorary pallbearers: Ryder Malmay, Keegan Maxey, Derek Meshell and Shawn Sepulvado.
