A celebration of the life of Jack Carter will be held at Word of Truth Church in Many, Louisiana on May 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Bethsaida Cemetery in Many, Louisiana. A resident of Many, Louisiana since 1991, he was born on February 7, 1931, the son of Travis Jefferson Carter and Myra Mae Albritton Carter, and entered into his eternal rest with Jesus on May 25, 2025 at 94 years of age. The family will receive friends at Word of Truth Church in Many on Hwy 6 at 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children; son, Mike Carter and wife Cindy of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter, Carolyn Ricks and husband Hanan of Many, Louisiana; son, Jeffery Carter and wife Lori of Roswell, Georgia; daughter, Ginger Dugas and husband Glenn of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jacque Ricks Wright, Jimmy Ricks, Kathy Carter Gibbons, Rev. David Carter, Amanda Carter, and Travis Carter; great-grandchildren, Ty and Brooke Thurman, Sophie and Carter Gibbons; and Isaac Babin and Olivia Ricks; his sister, Rosa Carter Crane and her husband Dale of Pineville, Louisiana; many loved nieces and nephews.

Those who welcomed him home are his wife of 68 years, Elsie; his parents; his sister, Vashti Carter Breaux; and his brother, Rev. Paul Carter.

Jack Carter worked his early years as a millwright and later as a maintenance foreman at Riley Beaird Industries. He was a “Jack” of all trades building furniture, homes, and churches. He loved growing a bountiful garden that was shared with all. He was a steward in the forest industry and faithfully served as President on the board of the Bethsaida Cemetery. He lived his life for others by lending a helping hand, an encouraging word or just his presence when needed. A man of great wisdom and compassion for all, friends, family and strangers.
