Clara Bessie Webb

Funeral services for Clara Webb were held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on October 30, 2019 with Rev. Jimmy Price officiating. Interment were held at Sardis Cemetery in Converse.

Clara was born on May 1, 1939 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Charlie E. Ford and Blanche C. Lord. She entered into rest on October 27, 2019 in Many, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles W. Davis; sisters, Jean Manning and Mary Welborn; brothers, Charlie Ford and James Rambin and grandson, Christopher Harville.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Robert E. Davis and wife Jeanne of Stonewall; daughter, Diane Garcie and husband Johnnie E. of Converse; grandchildren, Mindy Stricker, Melody Minter, Tiffany Lafollette, Robert Davis Jr., Miranda Davis; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Savellia Rose Garvin

Funeral services honoring the life of 13-year-old Savellia Rose Garvin were held on October 29, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Many with Rev. Ronnie Sandifer officiating. Interment were held at Bethsadia Cemetery in Zwolle.

Savellia Rose Garvin was born January 20, 2006 to Rebecca Garvin and Michael Nova and she went home to be with her maker on October 24, 2019. Although she lost her daddy, Michael; she was Blessed to have another daddy that God brought into her life and he raised her as his own; Rayford McComic, Jr. She loved with all of her heart, this was very true of her family and friends; especially of her niece and her cousin. She wanted what was best for everyone! Forever and always trying to lift the spirits of those around her; she always wanted to make everyone smile. In addition, she was a very hilarious and thoughtful young lady who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outside with nature and animals of all kinds.

Funeral services honoring the life of Valery McDonald were held on November 5, 2019 at Mitchell Baptist Church in the Mitchell Community with Bro. Bobby Russell officiating.

Interment will be held at Mitchell Cemetery in the Mitchell Community.

Valery was born on October 31, 1943 in Converse to Bertie & Alice McDonald and entered into rest on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Converse.

Valery was an avid outdoorsman with hunting being his favorite sport. He loved to fox hunt along with deer, turkey and coons on occasion.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bertie & Alice McDonald and his sister & brother-in-law Francis & Jerry Simmons & nephew Jerry Lynn Simmons.

Funeral services for Weldon Blanco, 93, of Florien, will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Beulah Baptist church with Rev. Kenneth Leach, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Beulah Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, November 1, 2019, at 9:30 AM at Beulah Baptist Church, Many, Louisiana.

Weldon Joseph Blanco was born on Monday, August 2, 1926 in Amelia, Louisiana. He passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Tioga Community Care in Pineville, Louisianas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Ida (Use’) Blanco; wife, Olga Jean Gandy Blanco; brothers, Donald Blanco, Mertis Blanco and Shorty Blanco.

Weldon was a retired veteran of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. After his time in the military, he went into civil service at Pt. Hueneme Seabee Base. After both retirements, he moved to Florien and drove the bus for the Sabine Council on Aging.

Graveside services for George Yearwood, Jr., 90, of Pleasant Hill were held on October 28, 2019 at Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, Louisiana with Bro. Dean Johnson officiating.

Mr. Yearwood was born May 16, 1929 in Shreveport and passed away October 24, 2019. Although George was challenged throughout his life, he loved the outdoors and could always be found mowing and raking. He enjoyed being around people and would always ring the church bell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hunter and Ester Yearwood; mother, Dessie Mae Anderson; sister, Katherine Claxton; and nephew, Tyrone Tyler.

Mr. Yearwood is survived by his nephew, Roger Claxton; two great-nephews; and very dear friends, Truly and Janey Bozeman.

John Christopher Oosta

John Oosta was born on December 5, 1966, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away on September 5, 2019, in Elkhart, Indiana.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Oosta; mother, Margaret Oosta; sisters, Kathy Childress and husband Mark; Carol Walsh and husband Garry; Joanie Dahlem and husband Freddy; niece, Caitlin Childress; nephews, Garrett Walsh, Jr. and Derek Bernard; 4 great nephews and 1 great niece.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Oosta; nephew, Richard Walsh; maternal grandparents, Chris Stovall and Janie Stovall DeLaCerda; and step-grandfather, Lou DeLaCerda; paternal grandparents, John Oosta and Winifred Oosta.

John graduated from Zwolle High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps, and then was in the trucking business for many years.

John loved hunting, riding four-wheelers, and spending time with his daughter.

Archie Anderson was born on Thursday, January 30, 1930 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. He passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in Zwolle, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Farmer Anderson; father, James Anderson; step-mother, Rena Paddie Anderson and sister, Irene Paddie.

Jackie Teasley was born on Wednesday, October 4, 1933 in the community of Aimwell. She passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 in Zwolle. Welcoming her into Heaven are her parents, Clifford and Aline (Jordan) Bray; and her beloved sister, Carolyn “Sue” Carrigan and her husband Carl.
