Andrew William Palmer

Andrew Palmer was born on July 10, 1995 in San Antonio, Texas. Andrew died unexpectedly, but peacefully, and went to be with our Lord on August 26, 2022.

Andrew was baptized and confirmed at his home church, the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio. Andrew attended grade school at San Antonio Academy, transferred to Alamo Heights Middle School and graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 2014. Andrew attended The University of Alabama with a Presidential Scholarship, graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Benny Walker, 82, of Milam, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Benny was born in Many, Louisiana on February 29, 1940 to J. C. Walker, Sr. and Doris White Walker. He attended Negreet High School before joining the United States Air Force. After his military career, he spent many years in the oilfield working as a tool pusher. His job took him all over the world to places like Dubai, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and India. When he was home, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was a long time resident of Many, Louisiana before moving to Milam in 1998 and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 5:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church.

Ottis Ray Green was born on Wednesday, September 5, 1956 in Morgan City, LA. He passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis Ray Green, Sr. and Edith Mae Knowles Green and four siblings.

Marilyn Kay Garcie was born on Wednesday, August 10, 1966 in Zwolle, LA. She passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Joseph Garcie, Jr. and Linda Sue (Ragsdale) Garcie; step-mother, Elizabeth Bea Williams; sister, Jeanell Irene Mitchell; aunt, Elouise Williamson; nephew, Phillip James Sepulvado; and her brother-in-law, David Leslie Sepulvado.

He passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil E. Rivers and Mary Ann (Roberson) Rivers; brothers, Kenneth Rivers and Robert Dale Rivers and his sisters, Nelda Stevens and Virginia Nash.

Carson Lavon  Edwards

Carson Edwards died Friday August 19 at 5:15 Pm in Tupelo MS. He was born in Peason LA on February 23, 1934 to Monroe Edwards and Audrey Letia Browning Edwards. He went to Mt Carmel School then he graduated from C E Byrd High School in Shreveport LA. He moved his family back to the Peason community in 1973 on the farm his father bought in 1932. In 1953 he married Jane Sales Edwards and they were married for 69 years at the time of his death. He served for 8 years in the US Navy Reserves during the Korean Conflict. He retired from KCS Railroad after 33 years service. He was a Mason for many years and a dedicated Gideon. He loved to speak at churches for the Gideons. Working with the Gidieons was his way to continue to spread God’s word through the distribution of New Testament bibles. He was a life long Southern Baptist and taught many Sunday School classes from young marrieds to seniors.

Funeral services for Minnie Robertson will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church on August 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM. The wake will be from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12 noon at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Bignar, Rev. Dean Johnson and Rev. Rickey Robertson officiating.

Minnie Craft Robertson was born on November 15, 1931 at Kisatchie, LA and she was the daughter and youngest child of Arthur Clyde and Annie Mae Phares Craft. She was preceded in death by her husband B. D. (Bud) Robertson, her parents, and her two brothers, Mac D and Lewis G. Craft.

She is survived by three sons, Rev. Rickey and wife Patsy of Peason, LA, Ronnie and wife Karen of Peason, LA and Kendall and wife Tracey of Peason, LA; two grandchildren, Kendall Garrett Robertson and Anna Robertson Heard; three great grandchildren, Bralee, Bentlee, and Braden, and another great grandchild on the way, Joel Jackson Heard. And she had a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Robert Arthur of Many, Louisiana, died peacefully in his home on August 24, 2022, at the age of 77. He was surrounded by his friends and family. A lifelong resident of Sabine Parish, Mr. Arthur loved to fish and hunt, and above all, enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

February 10, 1941 - August 20th 2022 Phillip Devaney, 81, of Florien, Louisiana passed away August 20th, 2022.

Phillip was born on February 10th, 1941 in Monahans , TX to the late Joseph Thomas Devaney and Rose Marie Devaney.

Dan graduated from De La Salle High School in New Orleans, La. in 1959. He attended college at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, where he met and married Brenda Elaine Pickett. After graduation he attended Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe and received his Masters of Music Education.
