Robert “Bob” F. Valentine, CDR USN (RET.) passed away on Jan. 9, 2014. He will be sorely missed. Bob was born in 1926 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Oscar and Agnes Valentine. Funeral services for De- Wayne Eugene Meshell, 62, of Zwolle were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. at St.

Joseph Catholic Church. Father Timothy C. Hurd officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. DeWayne was born on April 13, 1951, in Zwolle. He entered into eternal rest on Jan. 12, 2014. in Shreveport. He was self-employed in the timber industry for many years. He was preceded in death by his father E.E. Meshell; and son Chad Michael Meshell.

Funeral services for James David Lites, 85, of Many, were held on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 beginning at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Many with the Rev. Danny Forsythe and the Rev. Spencer Lovitt officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Many. Visitation was on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, beginning at 5 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Many. James David Lites was born on Thursday, Sept. 13, 1928 in Many. He passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at his residence in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Myrtle Bryant Lites; his wife, Julie Lites and

one brother, Dayle Lites. He is survived by his three sons, Jimmy Lites of Many; Danny Lites and wife, DeVaughn of Many and Tracy Lites also of Many; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

James Stanley Tabor, age 57, passed away peacefully at Grace Home in Shreveport, at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, following a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 25, 1956, in Many to Billy James “Buddy” Tabor and Barbara Jean (Smith) Tabor. Stanley grew up in Many, where he attended Many High School. He worked for many years in his family’s business, Tabor’s Farm and Ranch Supply, before moving to  Shreveport where he was an employee of Chevyland for the past several years. Stanley was preceded in death by his beloved brother,  Bruce; his parents, Buddy and Barbara Tabor; his paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Ruby Tabor; and his maternal grandparents, Tom and Gertie Smith.
