Funeral services for Carl Hester, Jr. ,72, of Many, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Leach officiated. Interment followed in the Little Flock Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014. Carl was born on Oct. 1, 1941 in DeQuincy. He entered into eternal rest at his residence on Feb. 26, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Hester,

Sr. and Cora Williams Hester; daughter, Vicki Lynn Hester; son, Carl Shane Hester; grandson, Clay Taylor MInson; and brothers, Johnny Hester and Newton Hester. He is survived by daughters, Cindy Edwards of Zwolle, Gloria Thompson and husband, Jerry, of Many, and Barbie Hester of Many; grandchildren, Brandi Loetscher, Corey Liverman, Matthew

A memorial service will be held at a later date for Francis “Big Man” Ezernack, 60, of Danville, Ill., at the camp of Bobby and Carolyn Ezernack in Zwolle. He was born on Oct. 23, 1953, in Zwolle, to parents Hobert and Victoria Ezernack. He

died on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 in Danville, Ill. Ezernack was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Victoria Ezernack, and five brothers, Calvin, Paul, Joe, Doug and George Ezernack. He is survived by five brothers, Steve, Ned, Bobby, Larry and Diggy Ezernack, and four sisters, Frances, Juanita, Ann and Vicky. He was cremated in Illinois. Arrangements for a memorial service are still pending.

 

 

Funeral services for Angela Janine Lindsey 47, of Florien were held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in the Rose- Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. George Swain, pastor of Lilly United Pentecostal Church. Interment followed in the Moss Cemetery. Angela was born in Shreveport on June 30, 1966. She entered into eternal rest at her residence on Feb. 20, 2014. She is survived by her mother, Lela Laurence Dick, of Merryville; father, Oren Moss, Jr.

of Galveston, Texas; son, Scott Wade Lindsey, of Merryville; daughter, Kayla Lynette Lindsey, of Merryville; sisters, Tanya Lyn Odom, of Newton, Texas, and Tina Irvin, of Merryville; brother, Wilmar Ray Moss, of Florien; and a host of friends. Funeral services honoring the life of Melveana Gates Vines, 77, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with the Rev. Jimmy Price officiating. Burial followed at Converse Cemetery in Converse. The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at the Rose-Neath Funeral in Mansfield. Melveana was born July 10, 1936, in Mitchell to William and  Nettie Britt Gates and passed away Feb. 15, 2014 in Bossier City. She was a member of Springs of Grace Baptist Church in Shreveport. Melveana was a loving mother, faithful wife and loyal friend. She loved everyone unconditionally. Funeral services for John G. Feldhiser, Sr. “Johnny Dollar”, 82, of Zwolle, were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Ebarb. Father Timothy C. Hurd officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. John was born on Aug. 24, 1931, in Roger City, Mich. He entered into eternal rest at his residence on Feb. 19, 2014. He worked at Boise Cascade as a boilermaker until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leona Mc- Lalin Feldhiser; sisters, Leota “Lee”  Monson and Florence  Wilson; son, Rodrick Allen Feldhiser; grandson,  Stevie Allen Ferguson; and granddaughter, Terrie Ellen Feldhiser.

Funeral services for Vesta Eileen Lombard, 89, of Florien, were at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. at Mt. Carmel Baptist

Church in Florien with the Rev. John Lewing and the Rev. Scroggs officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery 

in Florien. Visitation was at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Florien. Vesta Eileen Lombard was born on Saturday, Sept. 13, 1924, in Mt. Carmel. She passed away on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at her residence in Florien. She is survived by three special caregivers, Brittney Herbert, Nancy Mendez and Vanesa Herbert,
