A funeral mass honoring  the life of Charles Glenn Jones 71, of Zwolle was held on Thursday, July 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Timothy C. Hurd officiated and Deacon Jerry Daigle assisted. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the church on Wednesday, July 9. A rosary and vigil service was held.

Funeral services for Tommy Dailey, 73, of Florien were held on Friday, June 27, 2014 beginning at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Toro Community  with Bro. Brian Gilcrease and Bro. Chuck Withers officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in the Toro Community. Visitation began  on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Toro Community. Tommy Dailey was born on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1940 in Shreveport. He passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his  residence in Florien. Tommy was blessed early with the skills of his hands and worked a majority of his life as a mechanic professionally and for friends. As a young man, his passion drove him to building most of the cars he would drive and after spending four years in the U.S. Air Force, his skills and knowledge were broadened for greater achievements. He spent a number of years working at Ellis Piston and Round Tree Oldsmobile in Shreveport.

Sidney Maurice Johnson, Jr.

Services for Sidney “Sam” Johnson, 83, of Kilgore, formerly of Many, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hampton officiating. Burial followed in Hallsville Cemetery. Mr. Johnson died  Sunday, June 29, 2014 in Kilgore, Texas. He was born May 22, 1931 to Sidney and Grace Blackwell Johnson in Newgulf, Texas. Mr. Johnson was a 1949 graduate of Wharton Texas High School. Later that year, he enlisted in the United States Marines. Sergeant Johnson was honorably discharged in November 1952. Mr. Johnson worked for Dowell Chemical Company until his retirement in 1983. In his retirement, e and his wife, Yvonne moved to Toledo Bend area where they sold bait to local marinas. He enjoyed building birdfeeders, feeding the many birds that visited his yard, and butterfly gardening. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 34 years, Yvonne Johnson of Kilgore; sister, Mary Elizabeth Thweatt; son, David M. Johnson; daughters, Virginia J.
