Thurman W. Sepulvado passed away Feb. 16, 2015 at 2:15 p.m. He was born on Feb. 17, 1934 in Zwolle. Mass was held Feb. 24 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Zwolle with Father Tim Hurd officiating. Preceded in death by parents, Jessie Sepulvado and Francies Leone Sepulvado; brothers, Jessie B. Sepulvado and Ozell Sepulvado; sister, Lonnie B. Williams; niece, Betty Sue Ebarb; nephew, Allen D. Sepulvado and sister-in-law Virginia Sepulvado. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Edele Sepulvado Gabriel and husband, Robert; nieces, Candace J. Stuessy and husband, Kevin and Colleen Williams; nephews, Keith Gabriel, Travis Sepulvado, James Williams and Daniel Williams; great niece, Jessica G. Stuessy; great nephew, Colby Wollin; aunts, Thelma Mae Sepulvado and Florence Moore and a host of cousins and relatives. Thurman will be remembered by everyone who knew him, by great gardens he planted every year.

Funeral services for Winnie Loyd 83, formerly of Shreveport, were held on Feb. 21 at Little Flock Baptist Church. Dr. Luke Dowden, the Reverends Tony Langton, and Michael Leach officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Annie Elizabeth Langton; son, Stanley Douglas Armstrong and siblings, Adrian Langton, Esta Vines, Lovie Cook, Tom Langton, Elmo Langton and Darrell Dane Langton. She is survived by her husband, Ray Loyd; daughters, Dorothy A. Procell and husband, John and Debra A. Russell and husband, Benny; grandchildren, Missie Mc- Millian and husband, Jason, Rebecca Pipkin and husband, Clay, Rachel Darnell and husband, Chris, Rendee Trout and husband, Corey and Rainey King and husband, Jack; great-grandchildren Micala McMillian and fiancé, Lee Britt, Abbey McMillian, Canaan Rains and fiancé Hunter Watkins, Asa Nance, Oakley Pipkin, Cole Darnell, Cate Darnell and Callie Trout and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Robert “Bo” Blackwell, 48, of Marthaville were held on Feb. 23, at Old Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Old Pisgah Cemetery. Bo Blackwell was born on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1966 in Many. He passed away on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at his home in Marthaville. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Frasier Blackwell; paternal grandparents, Howard and Leoda Blackwell and maternal grandmother, Gladys Peterson. He is survived by his parents, Phyllis and Paul Patton of Marthaville; sisters, Pam Dillard and husband, Greg, of Robeline, DJuana Singletary and husband, Kerry, of Marthaville and Ginger Patton of Many; aunt, Peggy Bruce and husband, Julian, of Lake Charles; nephews, Jeremy Dillard, Cade Dillard, Caleb Dillard and Dustin Singletary; nieces, Tarin Jeter and Leah Gunter; six great nieces and nephews; special friend, Pam Patton of Many along with a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral Services for Dorothy Lynette Kay, 63, of Leesville were held on Feb. 18 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Florien with the Reverends John Lewing and Kirk Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Florien Cemetery. Dorothy Lynette Kay was born on Thursday, Dec. 20, 1951 in Houston, Texas. She passed away on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Doris Stewart; son, Tommy Kay and brother, Kelsie Chance. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Kay and Steve Procell of Many; brother, Thurman D. Stewart and wife, Carolyn, of Florien; granddaughters, Krystal Parker and husband, Kirk, of Florien and Kyrsten Brown and Joshua Bennett of Florien; great grandchildren, Paislea Parker, Peyton Parker, Paxton Parker, Kaydence Brown and Haven Bennett along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were John Parker, Joshua Bennett, Kevin Taylor, Dave Roberts, David Brown and Toc Ockerman.

Garland Salter

Garland Zane Salter received his complete and ultimate healing, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. A Celebration of his life was held on Feb. 18 at Union Baptist Church in Belmont, where he was an active, long time member. Officiating were Bros. Johnny Garrett, Buddy Greer and Glen Howard. Eulogies were given by his daughter, Kim, and grandson, Kyle. Zane, born on April 4, 1934, in Rocky Springs, was the devoted son of the late Julian P. Salter and Christelle Sanders Salter. He was raised in Belmont with his siblings, Gloria Salter Manning, Jerry Salter, and Dale Salter, who all preceded his home going in addition to his infant brother, Bobby Dane Salter. His beloved alma mater is Belmont High School, where he excelled in basketball and making a multitude of lifelong friends. Zane married the love of his life, Marjorie McComic Salter, on Nov.

James McKay

James E. McKay Jr., 81, of Locust Bayou, Ark. passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. He was born Nov. 4, 1933 to James E., Sr. and Alta Furr McKay. He was a forester for International Paper Company for 34 years. He was a beloved member of the Locust Bayou Church of Christ. Jim was one of those rare people who was universally liked. He always had a smile on his face and was an encouragement to everyone. Kind-hearted, hospitable and generous, Jim’s door was always open to anyone and he was ever ready to help people however he could. He deeply loved his family and found great pleasure in spending time with them whether it was on family vacations, at the deer camp or relaxing on the front porch. In the lives of his loved ones, “Papa” was a steady, positive presence. A devoted member of the Church of Christ, Jim was the primary song leader for many years. As such, he left a lasting impression on those who he led in worship.
