Funeral services for Glen Knippers, 84, of Many, were held June 18 at Many Church of The Nazarene with the Reverends David Hoffpair and Daniel Lowe officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Nazarene Cemetery. Glen was born on Wednesday, March 23, 1932 in Robeline. He passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Courtyard Nursing Home in Natchitoches. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Franklin Knippers and Thelma Lee Stewart Knippers. He is survived by his wife, Lela J. Knippers of Many; son, Glen Dale Knippers of Many; daughter, Lela Gail Greer and husband, Robert B. Greer, Jr. of Many; daughter, Sherri D. Funeral services for Needham E. Tidwell, 79, of Many, were held June 20 at Many Church of Christ with Bro. James Tidwell officiating. Burial followed in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery. Needham E. Tidwell was born on Saturday, June 5, 1937 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Shreveport. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bossie Jefferson Tidwell and Bertha Bell Alford Tidwell; brother, B. J. Tidwell, Jr. and sisters, Marie Greer, Dorothy Mae Tidwell, Ruth Cole, and Jean Davis.He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Tidwell Cheatwood of Marthaville; son, John Needham Tidwell of Columbia, Mississippi; sister, Hazel Holloway of Temple, Texas; brother, James Tidwell of Many; nine grandchildren; one great grandson, Kaden; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Ann Trimble Muncy

Ann Trimble Muncy, 78, passed away May 24, 2016 at 10:55 a.m. in Many with her husband by her side. She was born on August 18, 1937 in Jeanerette to Lawless James and Edith Marie Trimble. Ann grew up in Patoutville until she was five. She then moved to Jeanerette, where she graduated from Jeanerette High School. After high school she attended Spencer’s Business College in Lafayette where she received an Accounting and Business Degree. Ann married Don Muncy in 1956 in Lafayette. They were happily married for 60 years. Ann was a member of her church’s UMW and sang in the choir. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling and being with her family. Ann is survived by her spouse, Don, of Many; daughters, Teri Halverson and husband, Duane, of Tomball, Texas, Donna Doise of Houston, Texas, and Sandra Vines of Cypress, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Doise, Travis Halverson, Kelsey Halverson and Loudan Vines; great-grandson, Christopher Baca; nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Henry Charles Riggs

Services for Henry Charles Riggs, 79, of Many, were held June 11 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. James Guay officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Riggs was born December 31, 1936 in Burnet, Texas, the son of the late Juanita Mc-Guire and Oscar Riggs. He passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Shreveport. Mr. Riggs was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He graduated high school in Missouri City, Texas and attended the University of Houston. He was an accident investigator for the Houston Police Department for five years. He married Brenda Sullivan on November 19, 1969. He was a draftsman for Wilson Industries in Houston, was a CPA for H & R Block, owned and operated a hardware and automotive center in Many, and enjoyed working. Mr. Riggs loved his family; his wife and children were his life. He enjoyed playing the guitar, helping others, and working in his store.

Danny Ray Risor

Danny Ray Risor was born November 5, 1943 in Sabine Parish. He passed away February 28, 2016 in San Francisco, California after a 5-year battle of Parkinson’s disease. He retired from working in accounting of a stock brokerage firm. Before moving to San Francisco in 1965, he worked on a Swedish merchant marine ship and visited 15 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia. He was a member of the San Francisco Orchid Society and enjoyed his orchids. He also enjoyed playing the piano, going to great ethnic restaurants, working in his Japanese garden, and going on walks throughout the city he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents, R.G. and Mattie Risor; sisters, Helen Lane and Edith Allen; brothers, Charlie and Frank Risor and partner of 43 years, Richard Jesse. He enjoyed his Basenji dogs: Zaire, Sudan and Ituri for many years.

Darren "DJ" Frazier

Memorial services honoring the life of Darren “DJ” Frazier, 25, were held June 9 at Wallace Baptist Church, in Wallace. DJ was born on September 29, 1990 to his parents, Darren and Kathy Frazier and went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2016. DJ was known by many and a friend to all. Always kind and affectionate and a true comedian. His magnetic personality and beautiful smile could light up a room. DJ was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. He was a thrill seeker, adventurer, and fearless in every way. Larger than life. Preceding DJ in death were his paternal grandparents, Neal and Ernel Frazier and daughter, Isabelle Hope Frazier. Carl LeLand Hardy

Carl LeLand Hardy, 67, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2016. Funeral services were held June 11 with a viewing beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Many. Burial followed at Fort Jesup Cemetery in Many. The Patriot Guard led the procession and welcomed all motorcycles. Born in Many, on October 7, 1948, he was the son of Emmit Oliver Hardy and Mildred Mae Scott Hardy. Carl was a veteran of the United States Army who served his country in Vietnam. He was a horse loving, gun totin’, motorcycle riding friend to everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Emmit Ray Hardy; nephew, Vincent Ray Hardy and his grandson, Keldon Gene Hardy.

Burial followed in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Dinah Davis was born on Monday, September 4, 1916 in Many. She passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Sabine Medical Center in Many. Mrs. Davis served in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved dancing and doing alterations for her customers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Grappe and Mary Moore Grappe; sons, Gene Davis and Charles Ralph Davis; grandson, Mike Davis; four brothers and two sisters.
