Clarence “Bob” Hamilton Jr.

On May 15, 2018, a faithful servant of God, and an encourager to all, went to Heaven.

Clarence Robert “Bob” Hamilton, Jr. w as born January 4, 1935 in Lake Charles. He was born to Minnie Mae and Clarence Robert Hamilton, Sr. While at DeRidder High School he was an all-state football and track star, winning numerous medals and awards. He honorably served in the United States Navy from 1954-1958 spending most of his time as a Radar-man, 2nd Class Petty Officer aboard the Pacific U.S.S. Renville. In 1958, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a Billy Graham’s Crusade in Los Angeles, California.

Bob met the love of his life, Julie Ernestine “Ernie” Davis, at the First Baptist Church in DeRidder. He liked to tell the funny story that their budding romance almost ended when she said, “put out that cigar or put me out of this car.” Bob never smoked again and the rest is history.

Patrick Laroux

Funeral services for Patrick Leroy Laroux, 64, of Zwolle were held May 10 at First Baptist Church of Noble with the Reverends Jimmy Price and Troy Thomas officiating. He was born on Friday, March 5, 1954 in Zwolle, and passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Zwolle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tyne Laroux and Martha Sepulvado Laroux; and his brother, Howard Laroux.

Asa Cobbs

Asa Ray Cobbs, 82 died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Sabine Medical Center in Many following a brief illness. He was born April 1, 1936 in Belmont. Asa Ray grew up in Belmont and attended Immanuel Baptist Church. He had a passion for animals, especially his little dog. He was an avid painter, canner, craftsman and gardener. He loved pretty flowers. He is the youngest son of Asa Amos “Ace” and Alda Pauline Davis Cobbs, and his preceded in death by his brother, Billy Eugene Cobbs; sisters, Mary Edith Cobbs Stewart and Delmer Cleo Cobbs Eddleman. He is survived by one brother, James Truly Cobbs; sister-in-law, Margie Helen Rains Cobbs and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Funeral service were held May 12 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many with internment following at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Asa Ray hadn’t heard a spoken word in 82 years but last evening he heard “welcome home!”

Charles Lineweber

Charles H. Lineweber, 88, of Beatrice, Nebraska passed away May 7, 2018 in Arizonia. He was born on April 2, 1930 in Beatrice. He is survived by his wife, Imojean Lineweber of Beatrice; sons, Jerry Lineweber of Beatrice, and Donald Lineweber and husband, Ernie Markowitz, of Kingman, Arizonia, and Jack Lineweber and wife, Stacy, of Beatrice; daughter, Patti Jacobson and husband, J., of Beatrice; daughter-in-law, Doreta Lineweber of Rapid City, South Dakota; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; Funeral services will be held May 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Community Church in Beatrice. Dolores Brown

Dolores Brown, 81, a resident of Zwolle, passed away on May 7, 2018, in Natchitoches. She was born on January 21, 1937 to Walter Milford Wampole and Laura Beaver Wampole in Tainter, Wisconsin. Although she lived in many places throughout her life, she decided to spend her golden years in Zwolle. She enjoyed fishing, taking trips south to go crabbing, and traveling to explore new places. Dolores was a unique person who lived life on her own terms; she definitely was a one of a kind lady. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Toledo Bend, and loved to socialize with her friends. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Susan Frazier and husband, Roy, Robert D. Guillory, and David P.

Patsy Hatton

Patsy Patterson Hatton, age 85, passed away on Saturday April 21, 2018 at her residence. She was an avid LSU and Saints fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Elton Hatton; sons, Paul and John Hatton; parents, Floyd Harris Patterson and Mary Lena McNair Patterson; and brother, Floyd H. Patterson Jr. She is survived by her children, Leanna Hatton Skaggs and husband, Grayson Skaggs, Ellen Hatton Delahoussaye and husband, David Delahoussaye and son, Jeff Hatton; sister, Mary Lou Bentley; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren with one on the way. Funeral Services will be private.

Billy Sikes

Billy Sikes, 87, of Many was born to Ella Belle Payne and A.G. Sikes on July 2, 1930. Bill entered into a peaceful rest on May 4, 2018 after fighting with heart, cancer and kidney problems since December 1996. “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” He was preceded in death by his parents, A.G. Sikes and Ella Belle Roswell; sister, Linda Hale; grandson, Billy Ray; and little buddy, Rusty. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Peggy Sikes; son, Richard Pearson and wife, Marian; special great grandson, Elijah; granddaughter, Kimberly; grandson, Tristan; and numerous relatives and friends in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi, some of those he dearly loved. A special thanks to Doctors V. Pokala, M. Dhawan, and J. Corley. Also the people that took care of him in 2017 and 2018 at Sabine Retirement in Many, and special neighbors.

Jessie Clavier

Jessie Paul Clavier, 35, of Many passed away on May 1, 2018 at 9 a.m. He was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. He was born February 25, 1983 in Houma. He married Jamie Asher Clavier on December 4, 2003 in Alexandria. Together they had two beautiful children, Jacob Paul Clavier and Kayla Nicole Clavier. He was a welder by trade and was employed by D&K Branam Enterprises where whom he worked for the past four years. His passions include fishing, working and most of all his greatest passion was spending time with his children. He is survived by his wife Jamie; children, Jacob and Kayla Clavier of Annona, Texas; father, David Clavier Sr. of Many; brothers, David Clavier Jr. and Kevin Pitre of Houma; sister, Christie Rodney of Morgan City; nephew, David Andy Clavier of Houma; aunt, Margaret and husband, Edward of Many; grandmother, Betty Clavier of Many; and many other family and friends.

Linda Brown

Linda Rozann Brown was born on Friday, January 28, 1944 in Many, and passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earlis Truett Brown and Opal Addie Ellzey Brown. She is survived by her sister, Thelma Early and husband, Tommy, of Belmont; nieces, Joy DeWeese of Belmont and Kim Marsh and husband, Edward, of Waxahachie, Texas; along with a host of cousins and friends. Dorothy Taylor

Funeral services celebrating the life of Dorothy Bedell Taylor were held April 28 at Bayou Scie United Methodist Church in Zwolle with the Rev. Jim Phaup officiating. She was born on April 20, 1930 to Bailey Bedell and Mae Marr Pruitt. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26, 2018 at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her spouse of 44 years, Jewel Taylor. She is survived by her son, Wade Lynwood Taylor of Zwolle; sister, Francis Hayes of Zwolle; grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor and wife, Brooke, of West Monroe, Stephen Taylor and wife, Sue Ann, of Zwolle, and Amanda Martinez and husband, Danny, of Zwolle; and great-grandchildren, McKenna Taylor, Ryland Taylor, Jackson Taylor, and Aleah Taylor all of West Monroe. Honoring her as pallbearers were Stephen Taylor, Jonathan Taylor, Ryland Taylor, Danny Martinez, David Wilson, and Travis Wilson.
