Officer Jones visits Pleasant Hill Pre-K

Pleasant Hill PreK students Axle Baker, Eric Barkin, Isaac Burch, Kaydin Burnett, Jayden Elliott, Laila Gault, Noah Green, Grayson James, Chaz Jones, Kalia Morgan, Eli Salley, Isaac Salley, Charity Sanders, Joseph Scott and Georgana Shoemaker were pleased to have a visit with Officer Winter Jones of the Pleasant Hill PD recently. The class wishes to thank Chaz’s mom for taking the time to read and visit with them.

Melrose Arts, Crafts festival set for April

The 41st annual Melrose Plantation Arts and Crafts Festival has been scheduled for April 18 and 19, according to Harry Thompson, chairman for the event. The festival is sponsored by the Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches (APHN) and annually attracts more than 2,000 visitors during the two-day event. Each year the festival features more the 100 vendors from several states. Among the items offered in past years were original works of art, photographs, stained glass windows, handmade jewelry, plants, gourmet pickles and jellies, clothing, toys, woodworking products, pottery, and other arts and crafts objects. Located in southern Natchitoches Parish on State Highway 119, Melrose Plantation has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. The property features eight historic structures dating to the 1800’s. Guided tours will be available for two of the buildings: the big house and the African House.

The Zwolle-Ebarb VFW Memorial Post 5187 and Auxiliary participated in the “Wreaths Across America” program. This year they put out large wreaths at two of the Zwolle cemetary gates.

desire to donate some bears to Shreveport Shriner’s Hospital by Christmas as an honor to her first cousin, Joel Masters. Joel
was provided great care by the Shriner’s Hospital

City Hall honors parade Marshalls

On Saturday Dec. 13, the town of Many hosted a reception to honor the grand marshalls and honorary marshalls for the Many Christmas parade, and to thank the people of Many who helped make the 12 Days of Christmas possible and memoralize the memory of the staff members that passed away during the year.
