Edna Rainwater Moore passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 94. Eddie was born on November 12, 1931, in Alpharetta, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil L. and Leo Moss Rainwater, her brothers Cecil, Charles, and James Rainwater, and her husband of 50 years, Orian U. Moore, Jr.
Eddie leaves behind her son Gary L. Moore and daughter-in-law Ramona, three grandchildren, Lindsey Hiatt and husband Matthew, Rachel Braugh and husband Travis, and Merritt Moore and wife Kali, along with eight great-grandchildren, Patrick, Bethany, Caroline, Caleb, Catherine, Elise, Joel, and Shane, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Eddie was a mother, a teacher, a dedicated member of the Baptist church, a life-long learner, and an avid world traveler. She was a Georgia native and resident for 75 years where she was a vibrant member of the First Baptist Church Stockbridge, Monticello Baptist Church, Turtle Cove, and Jackson Lake communities. She will be remembered for her zest for life, her generous spirit, and her quick wit. Her loved ones describe her as one-of-a-kind, larger-than-life, amazing, smart, and magnificent.
A memorial service will be held on February 7, 2026, at First Baptist Church Many, Louisiana. Visitation will be at 10:00, and the service will be at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to First Baptist Church Many. A celebration of her life will be held in Georgia in June, details forthcoming.
