Linda Ebarb was born on August 27, 1951, in Noble, LA to her parents Fort Edward and Cerena Mae Logan. She passed away on Monday, September 30 at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Linda began her education career at Zwolle Elementary School as a paraprofessional. After graduating from Northwestern State University with her master’s degree, she taught at Mansfield Elementary, Ebarb Junior High, Many Junior High, and Zwolle Intermediate School. Linda was awarded Teacher of the Year in 1989 and 1993. After leaving the classroom, she served eight years as principal at Zwolle Intermediate. She also was an adult education teacher. She later earned her certification in Texas where she would eventually retire. After retirement, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens and fishing with her family and friends.

Linda was a humble person of little words. Former students and coworkers can attest that she was a professional, for she was a stern person with strict rules. Although she was a reserved person on the outside, she was a warm person inside. Isaiah 58: 10-11 describes Linda best: “If you feed those who are hungry and take care of the needs of those who are troubled, then your light will shine in the darkness”. She is definitely shining now, for she helped many people.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Fort and Cerena Logan, her husband Henry Wayne Ebarb of 55 years, brothers John Edward Logan and Hubert Earl Logan, and sister Marcie Ebarb.

Left to cherish her memory are son Wayne Allen Ebarb and wife Amy of Many, LA; grandchildren Cody Ebarb and wife Marisa of Ebarb, LA and Laken Ebarb of Dallas, TX; great grandsons Myles Ezernack and Cooper Ebarb; brother Dennis Logan of TX; sisters Kathy Adcock of LA, Vickie Sipes of TX and Susie Logan of FL., along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Those serving as pallbearers include Cody Ebarb, James Ebarb, Wendell Eldridge, Bob Laroux, Sammy D. Procell, and Sammy R. Procell.

The family extends a special gratitude to Dr. Ahktar and his staff, Shanna Ebarb and Staff at Superior Hospice, the Sabine Council on Aging, and Linda’s caretakers Orangie Gosey, along with Meka Brumfield, Shy Garrett, Tori Joseph, Audrey Mullens, Stephanie Remedies, Jerrica Sweet, and Vot Sweet.
