David Wooley was born into a loving home on October 19, 1965, in Many, Louisiana. He went on to be with his Lord on August 26, 2024, after a long fight with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Stacy Wooley, his daughter, Dr. Dana Botsko (George); step-children, Laura Fredieu (Wesley) and Tabitha Chamberlin (Kade); sister Debbie Merritt (Lavan); brothers Dean Wooley (Janet), Donnie Wooley (Cheryl); 8 grandchildren: Griffin, Vincent, Slade, Sarie, Jack, Jett, Steele and Sawyer; his fur baby and constant companion, Sugar and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nadine and Lynn Wooley.

David graduated from Negreet High School in 1983. He was the class clown, always ready to make you laugh with his quick wit and questionable dance moves. He remained close to his classmates throughout his life. Upon graduation, he joined the family water well business, until he moved on to a career in the oilfield as owner of Wooley Directional Drilling. He loved his work, his travels, and the people it allowed him to meet.

David was quite a cowboy in his younger days, participating in roping and steer wrestling events, and not surprisingly, as a rodeo clown. His passion for livestock turned into a partnership with his brother Dean in a cattle operation. The two of them were inseparable and could be found on any day at work on a west Texas drilling rig, feeding cows, or bailing hay.

David’s personality was larger than life. He was the life of any room he entered and never met a stranger. He loved everyone he met and let them know it. He was a loving papaw to his grandchildren and never hesitated to join in with their games, finding his spot on the floor or dirt right beside them. He loved his family, and his times shared with them will be missed.

He loved his church family at Pendleton Assembly of God, and he lived his faith daily sharing with others how God had blessed him over his life.

Visitation will be at Pendleton Assembly of God Church, located at 14152 Texas Highway, Many, Louisiana, on Friday, August 30, 2024, beginning at 5;00 PM.
