Ruthie Addison, changed her address to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2024, she was 87. Ruthie grew up in the church and her father became a minister when she was ten years old. At her father’s church in LA, she was a pianist and at the age of 24, she accepted Christ as her Savior. Ruthie and George Addison were married March 30, 1956 after having known each other their entire lives. They had 3 wonderful sons with the youngest two being twins. As a Missionary Union Member she held offices in Louisiana. She attended Louisiana College on a W.M.U. Scholarship. Ruthie was a member at Willow Meadows Baptist Church since 1961. She served as a Sunday School nursery worker, worked with preschool, Sunbeams, GAs, and supported her sons in Royal Ambassadors. She was a faithful choir member and helped in the Children’s Choirs and Preschool department.

After raising the boys, she worked 13 years at Houston Independent School District’s, Parker Elementary. Ruthie loved raising her boys with her husband & they celebrated 68 years of marriage in March. She loved reading her Bible, listening to good music, was a seamstress many would envy. She enjoyed needle crafts, canning, cooking, traveling, camping, participating in church activities, and being with friends and family.

Ruthie is survived by her beloved husband George Addison, Jr., son John (Rhonda) Addison & daughter Audrey; son Joseph (Kittie) Addison and son Dustin (Cassia) Claunch; Teresa Addison and Lauren Addison, David’s Family. Great grandchildren Preslynn and Ellis Claunch. Brother, Joe (Rita) DeBose. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends near and far. Ruthie was preceded in death by her son, David Addison; her brother Simmie DeBose; parents Rev. Sim and Estelle DeBose; grandparents, John and Jane DeBose; Ed and Ola Sanders.

Service and Interment will be held at Oak Hill Baptist Church on June 23, 2024, 154 Pastors Drive, Many, LA 71449. Visitation at 1:00pm, Service following at 3:00pm.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to a mission of your choice. Suggestions include, but are not limited to, The Gideons International or Samaritan’s Purse.
