Patricia Ann McDaniel Crow

Patricia Ann McDaniel Crow

“A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.” - The Wizard of Oz (1939) Patricia Crow passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024. She was 84. She is survived by her children: Sabina Rowe (Rick) and Chad Crow (Colleen); four grandchildren: Josh Crow (Emily), Leacy Aycock (John), Logan Crow (Megan), and Chelsea Rowe; eleven great- grandchildren: Collyn, Clayton, Carson, Caroline, Tripp, Allie, Lucas, Sully, CC, Quinn, and Reese; one sister- in- law: Yvonne McDaniel of Walnut Creek, California; one brother-in-law: Larry Crow (Myrna) of Many, LA, and one half- brother: E.W. McDaniel, Jr. (Debbie).

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Brady Crow, her brother, Dr. Jackson McDaniel, and her precious granddaughter, Cyndle Catherine Rowe Eyre. Patricia was born here in Sabine Parish on September 16, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Wade McDaniel and Elton Mc-Daniel. When Patsy was young, her mother moved her two children to DeRidder, LA, and that is where Patsy grew up. She was a 1958 graduate of DeRidder High School. She attended McNeese State University where she was a Phi Mu.

It was during this time that she met her soon-to-be husband, Robert. They married in 1959 and began their life together. Robert became a coach, and Patsy did well in the role of a coach’s wife. With their two children, they lived in Merryville, LA, and later his job took them to Abbeville, LA.

Years later, when the children were in elementary school, the opportunity arose for Robert to go to work with Patsy’s Uncle Jack Harper at Gulf Industries. The Crows packed up and moved to The Big Easy! They settled in Metairie where they reared their family. Patsy loved being a housewife and a mother.

As the children grew, Patsy and Robert bought a camp here on Toledo Bend. They enjoyed coming up on weekends and loved the “Lake Life.” When Sabina graduated from high school, they moved to the camp permanently. After Chad graduated, Patsy worked at the Sabine Council on Aging.

When Robert moved a branch of the business to Fisher, LA, Patsy worked in the office there as a secretary and payroll clerk.

Patsy and Robert were very involved in their children’s sports. Later in life, they never missed a basketball game or baseball game their grandchildren played. They loved being grandparents, and they were the best!

By the time the great grands came along, Patsy gave up the road trips and retired to her home where she loved to read, watch old westerns, and the news. She could discuss politics with the best of them. She always said she had the prettiest view in the world looking out at the lake from her chair.

Deep down, Patsy was an eccentric soul. She was very talented. She was an artist, and a musician. She worked with ceramics and loved re-doing antiques. She was also an animal lover. She always had a house dog, and at one time, a pet goose! She traveled all over the U.S. and abroad.

Patsy loved her children, grandchildren, and great grands. With her family, she accomplished what she wanted to in life!

In life we loved her dearly. In death we will love her still. Pallbearers: Rick Rowe, Josh Crow, John Aycock, Logan Crow, Collyn Crow, Clayton Crow, Carson Crow, and Lucas Eyre.
